On October 29, 2024, American podcaster Joe Rogan took to X, informing internet users that the Harris campaign hasn't passed on doing the podcast. In his reasoning, Rogan mentioned that the campaign offered a date for Tuesday, but he would have to travel to Kamala Harris, and they only wanted to do an hour of the podcast.

Joe Rogan's tweet further stated:

"I strongly feel the best way to do it is in the studio in Austin. My sincere wish is to just have a nice conversation and get to know her as a human being. I really hope we can make it happen."

Investigative journalist Lisa Guerrero was quick to comment on Joe Rogan's tweet and called him out by tweeting:

"If YOU ask for the interview, YOU GO TO THEM if they’re working on the road. (Say, attempting to save democracy.)"

The journalist also said she's been a reporter for "30 years, clocking 10,000 stories," while Rogan is a podcaster with a portable mic. Lisa ended her tweet by telling Rogan, "Go get that interview, champ."

"I would definitely watch that podcast"— Elon Musk comments on Joe Rogan's tweet about a podcast with Kamala Harris

After Joe Rogan tweeted an update about his podcast with Kamala Harris, Tesla CEO Elon Musk commented on Rogan's tweet:

"Good clarification. I would definitely watch that podcast. Hour 2 would be 🫠"

However, not everyone had the same views as Elon Musk to Rogan's update on a podcast with Harris. Some X users had opinions similar to that of journalist Lisa Guerrero with respect to Rogan expecting Kamala Harris to come to his studio for the podcast.

"joe rogan expecting harris to travel to his studio for a 3 hour interview in the last 7 days of the election is actually insane," an X user tweeted.
"We’ve entered the era in which podcast hosts have more power than a sitting vice president...A college dropout who started his career hosting “Fear Factor” and working as a UFC commentator is able to dictate terms to a vice president, former senator, and former attorney general of the largest state in America," a netizen mentioned.

While Rogan hasn't hosted a podcast with Kamala Harris yet, he has repeatedly commented on the vice president in The Joe Rogan Experience podcast. After Harris' debate with Trump on September 10, 2024, Rogan praised the Democratic nominee, saying whoever helped her or coached her for the debate did an amazing job.

He also told podcast guest Tom Segura that Harris was more prepared than Trump when answering questions mentioning she said things she believed "and they sounded real good."

Additionally, in a podcast Rogan hosted with Navy SEAL and CIA contractor Shawn Ryan in September 2024, Rogan commented on how Harris and Tim Walz would "clamp down" free speech online.

The podcaster said Harris would try to clamp down on free speech on X and other platforms. His opinion was seconded by Elon Musk, who shared Rogan's video on X.
