In the final episode of Better Call Saul, Jimmy McGill, or Saul Goodman, is sentenced to 86 years in prison for being Walter White’s criminal lawyer and despite going down a dark road in the previous seasons, Saul turns a corner in the finale. He confesses to all his crimes and clears Kim Wrexler’s name in the process. He even offers to tell the prosecutors what happened to Howard Hamlin but is then told that Wrexler had already confessed to the murder.
The finale also takes viewers back in time to Breaking Bad where Walter White and Saul are waiting to get taken towards their new lives and are having a conversation. Saul brings up the time machine again and Walt dismisses Saul's question about the time machine as a scientific impossibility but adds that he regrets leaving the company he co-founded, Gray Matter Technologies. It shifts to the courtroom where Saul is about to get a seven year sentence but then he takes a complete U-turn and confesses to all his crimes, even bragging about how Walter couldn’t have built his empire without him.
