Claims of the Hawk Tuah Girl, Hailey Welch, passing away have circulated across X. This comes after she has remained silent on her social media platforms since her alleged $HAWK cryptocurrency scam. As the rumors circulate online, it is worth noting that they are completely false.

X user @scrimXBT was one of the many who took to the social networking site on December 9 to share an image of Hailey Welch. They also wrote in the tweet, “Breaking News: Hailey Welch has been found deceased at the age of 22 years old.”

Several others have since taken to the website to share similar claims. However, Hailey Welch has become a victim to celebrity death hoaxes with misinformation circulating online.

The rumors have been circulating days after the social media personality faced allegations of scamming her investors with her failed $HAWK memecoin. The value of the same plummeted over 90% just hours after launching.

Many have alleged that the youngster took part in a “rug pull” and a “pump-and-dump” scam, terms that are used to describe fraudulent practices in the cryptocurrency market.

Hailey Welch did not pass away

Despite the same being discussed heavily on X, it is important to note that it is fake news. Popular gossip page Drama Alert took to its X account and debunked the aforementioned netizen’s claims. The page said on December 9:

“Hawk Tuah fake DEATH rumors after dump and dump allegations. There is no evidence she has died.”

Considering her celebrity status, it is highly likely that a press statement and established news outlets would have reported on her passing. Since neither has occurred, it is safe to say that she is very much alive.

This is not the first time a public figure has fallen victim to an internet death hoax. Some other celebrities who were rumored to have passed away include Will Smith, Justin Bieber, DJ Khaled, Oprah Winfrey, and Adam Sandler, among others.

It is important to verify such information through credible sources, as people often spread disinformation for momentary “clout” or popularity.

Hence, it is safe to say that Hailey Welch did not die.

Her silence on her social media platforms following the cryptocurrency scam likely led to the fake news surfacing online. The last time she addressed the project was on December 8, when she appeared on an X spaces session that was led by YouTuber Voidzilla alongside other crypto experts.

When she was asked about $HAWK, she abruptly ended the conversation by declaring that she was “going to bed.” When crypto expert Nick O’Neal asked her:

“So, I’m sort of curious, not for the token price itself, but just in terms of the fact that there does that are being generated. There’s an actual like-”

Hailey Welch then cut him off and said:

“Hi guys, I hate to interrupt you Nick, hello there, but anyhoo, I’m going to go to bed, and I’ll see you guys tomorrow.”

Nick was shocked and said:

“Um, ok. I guess we’re done talking over here.”

The last time Welch posted online was on December 5, where she claimed that “Team hasn’t sold one token, and not 1 KOL was given 1 free token.”

The same was debunked by X’s Community Notes, which stated, “Hailey is lying and will likely have to “talk tuah” judge about this.

Netizens now await the internet personality to address the scam allegations.
