The Jurassic World Dominion was released earlier this year and was the final instalment of the Jurassic World franchise starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. While many think that the Dominion is the last movie for the franchise, director Colin Trevorrow has something else in his mind.
During his interview with Deadline, Trevorrow confirmed that Jurassic World Dominion is not the final film for the franchise and that he left many elements in the Dominion that can be explored in the future. Trevorrow said, “I specifically did something different than the other films in order to change the DNA of the franchise. The previous five films are plots about dinosaurs. This one is a story about characters in a world in which they coexist with dinosaurs. There probably should have only been one Jurassic Park – but if we’re gonna do it, how can I allow them to tell stories in a world in which dinosaurs exist, as opposed to, here’s another reason why we’re going to an island?."
While the director had to say this, the film's producer Frank Marshall had told Slashfilm in January, “I think that Dominion‘s going to wrap up this trilogy, but we’re not resting on our laurels. We’re going to sit down, and we’re going to see what the future is.”
