Last week, Sean “Diddy” Combs’ former bodyguard Gene Deal sat for an interview with The Art of Dialogue and spoke about his ex-boss’ arrest and federal indictment. Gene Deal claimed that the investigation into the Love Album hitmaker began because of his close friendship with New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
Gene Deal explained that federal authorities should have “reviewed the civil lawsuits” brought forth by Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Cassie and his former associate Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, before conducting the raids into his homes in Miami and Los Angeles earlier this year.
However, instead of the Florida and California officials, federal agents in the Southern District of New York scrutinized the suits and found out about Combs’ alleged criminal activities.
“But all this is bigger than Diddy… Coz you know who else they were doing an investigation on, during that whole time period? It was the mayor and the politicians in New York City,” Gene Deal claimed.
Sean Combs’ ex-bodyguard also alleged that every one the rapper brought to work for Eric Adams was now “resigning” because none of them wanted to get involved in any legal trouble.
Notably, the Mayor was also federally indicted on Thursday for yearslong alleged public corruption and mismanagement.
Exploring more on what Gene Deal said about Diddy and Eric Adams
Gene Deal recently spoke to The Art of Dialogue and claimed that all of the Bad Boy Records label owner’s ongoing legal issues were connected to his “relationship” with New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who gave him “key to the city” last year.
“If you look at it, you have to say because of Mayor Adams and his relationship with Diddy, it brought on the Southern District of New York to start investigating Diddy on civil lawsuits that was put against him. Coz the feds is going after all these politicians in New York City,” Gene Deal claimed.
He further alleged that in Combs’ alleged “freak off” party lists and videotapes, there were not only A-list celebrities from Hollywood but also several politicians. For those unaware, “freak off” refers to “elaborate s*x performances”.
Prosecutors have claimed that these took place at the rapper's homes where young and often underaged girls were compelled through “force, threats… and coercion, to cause victims to engage in extended s*x acts with male commercial workers.”
U.S. Attorneys overseeing Diddy’s ongoing case have accused the hip-hop mogul of hosting such parties and watching or recording “freak off” sessions often without the knowledge of the female victims.
Elsewhere, Gene Deal said that such “parties” were not always even held by the disgraced rapper himself, but by his sons, including Justin and Christian.
In the same interview, the ex-bodyguard also mentioned that Diddy used “blackmail” to gain leverage on high-profile celebrities, while also claiming that powerful people like record executive Russell Simmons influenced his alleged criminal behavior and actions.
“Puff wasn’t born a monster, he was made into a monster. He was made into a monster because of what happened to him, and because of the things he had to do… To keep it frank, he was doing to other people what was done to him… that’s a learned behavior,” Deal added.
Eric Adams has been federally indicted just like Diddy
In September 2023, NYC Mayor Eric Adams conducted a ceremony in Times Square in honor of Sean “Diddy” Combs and gave him a key to the city, which was a symbol of recognition for New Yorkers such as the Bad Boy Records founder who has shown immense success.
At the time, Combs, who was born in Harlem, raised in Mount Vernon and later attended the Catholic School in the Bronx, shared during the ceremony how he was thankful for the “honor” and recognition. Meanwhile, Eric Adams called the day “Diddy Day.”
Notably, earlier this year, following multiple lawsuits and eventual raids at his home, Diddy was asked by Adams to return the key to the city.
Eventually, on September 16, Sean Combs was arrested from the Park Hyatt Hotel in Manhattan on the charges of racketeering conspiracy, s*x trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution to which Combs has pled “not guilty.”
As for the 64-year-old Eric Adams, he was indicted on September 26 by the feds who have accused him of decade-long public corruption, including wire fraud, bribery, and soliciting illegal donations from foreign nationals to support his political campaigns and his personal trips.
These include accepting gifts such as complimentary/ discounted Turkish Airlines flights, vacation stays at luxury resorts/ hotels, and yacht trips.
So far, the NYC Mayor, who’s a former police officer and is up for reelection in 2025 has maintained his innocence.
However, if convicted, he is looking at up to 45 years in federal prison. Both cases haven’t been revealed to be linked, yet.
