Former actor James Haven, the brother of Angelina Jolie, exchanged vows with Instagram personality Romie Imbelli in the summer of last year. For the unversed, Imbelli is mainly known for her appearance in three seasons of the Showtime series The Real L World. She shared the news of their marriage via an Instagram post on December 31, 2024.
As per People magazine, while James was active in the acting industry, he later started working for humanitarian causes, helping people fighting AIDS. According to Celebrity Net Worth, he boasts a net worth of $2 million.
A report by Page Six stated that James Haven and Romie Imbelli tied the knot on August 12, 2024, in Laguna Beach, California. The wedding ceremony was attended by the duo's close family members.
In the Instagram post, Romie wrote that she cannot disclose a lot of details about her relationship with James Haven, saying that they are "too personal and complicated." However, she mentioned that she would mention everything in her book and that she and James were best friends for 23 years.
"Unfortunately, we had a big fight the next day. After 5 months of much crying, healing, and reflection, we decided to work through our issues and are now planning a special day with my daughter. I feel liberated and ready to return to my husband and our home in LA."
She continued:
"Everything that has happened in the last few months was all part of a greater plan, and I trust in God's timing."
Romie continued by saying that 2024 will always hold a special place in her heart, adding that her father is watching everything from above and smiling. She wrote towards the end that Jamie popped the question to her at her father's grave.
James Haven has accumulated a lot of wealth from his work as an actor and activist
As mentioned, the Los Angeles native used to be an actor in the past and even produced a few projects. He later started pursuing a career as an activist, which has been his main source of income over the years.
James Haven was born to Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand, and during a conversation with the Daily Mail in 2007, James claimed that Jon was reportedly unavailable most of the time for him and Angelina. He recalled that he once had to request his father to pay alimony to his mother, and he was only 13 years old at the time. Speaking about his father, Haven also said:
"We saw him at around Christmas time or at school recitals. He was always around but he never did his job as a father. I think one of the reasons Angelina and I care so much for other people is his treatment of our mother. Angelina and I were very protective of her for that reason."
In his acting career, James shared the screen with Angelina on a few projects like Gia and Original Sin. His credits also include the romantic drama film Monster's Ball. Apart from that, he helmed an episode of the TV series The Game.
He developed an interest in direction when he was a student at the USC School of Film-Television. He has even appeared in other projects such as Hell's Kitchen, Breaking Dawn, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He is also famous for producing projects like Trudell and That's Our Mary.
James Haven slowly started getting involved with humanitarian activities and helping AIDS patients. According to Celebrity Net Worth, he has been working for a film festival called Executive Board Director of Artivist, which focuses on projects related to human rights and the environment.
James Haven and Angelina Jolie also trended back in 2000 after the Cyborg 2 star kissed Haven on the red carpet of the Academy Awards. Jolie expressed her love for her brother as she spoke on stage after receiving an award for her film Girl, Interrupted, saying that she has nothing without him and described him as one of the bravest and strongest men she has ever known.
