39th President of the United States, Jimmy Carter turned 100 in October 2024, and while he's in hospice care, his grandson Jason Carter told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Carter completed his bit for the upcoming US elections. The former president expressed his desire to live long enough to vote for Kamala Harris and he achieved the same on October 15, 2024, during early voting in Georgia.

On October 1, 2024, former president Jimmy Carter celebrated his 100th birthday surrounded by friends and family in his hometown of Plains, Georgia. The former president has been diagnosed with metastatic brain cancer and has been put in hospice care since February 2023 where he has been receiving treatment.
As per AP News, Carter's grandson, Jason Carter, who is the chair of The Carter Center governing board mentioned in an interview:
“Not everybody gets 100 years on this earth, and when somebody does, and when they use that time to do so much good for so many people, it’s worth celebrating."
Calling it a "gratifying time", Jason also mentioned that the 19 months that his grandfather has been in hospice has been a chance for their family to reflect as well as for the "rest of the country and the world to really reflect on him."
Moreover, as per Times Now News dated October 16, 2024, Jason Carter shared that his grandfather is trying to stay updated with world politics and the politics of the country. Jason said that the former president was alert about the US election as well as the ongoing war in Gaza.
Jimmy Carter became the president of the United States for the term of 1977 to 1981 which was also the period of the Cold War. Moreover, Carter also served as the 76th governor of Georgia in addition to which he was the Senator from the state.
