According to a report by The New York Post dated November 27, 2024, Mark Zuckerberg dined with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago in a meeting initiated by Zuckerberg himself. The two have had a strained relationship over the years, especially since Facebook banned the president-elect in January 2021.
Talking about Zuckerberg's meeting with Trump, a spokesperson from Meta told The New York Post:
"It's an important time for the future of American Innovation. Mark was grateful for the invitation to join President Trump for dinner and the opportunity to meet with members of his team about the incoming Administration."
Internet users quickly took to X to express their opinions on the Meta CEO meeting the president-elect. Commenting on Zuckerberg making things better with the president-elect, an X user tweeted:
"KISSING THE RING."
"He's on them knees begging Trump not to put him in jail." An X user commented.
"Mark Zuckerberg identifies as libertarian and met with Donald Trump today at Mar a Lago. / Is it time MAGA embraced him as one of our own?" Another X user mentioned.
"He's begging for forgiveness after his part in rigging the 2020 election," an internet user said.
Some netizens also alleged that Zuckerberg met with the president-elect because he was an addition to the list of wealthy people surrending to the president-elect:
"Mark Zuckerberg joins the long list of wealthy and powerful people pre-surrendering to Donald Trump. All of these billionaire are completely obsessed with their own perks and privileges. And of course, their own wealth. This is how kleptocracies and plutocracies are born." A netizen tweeted.
"That weasel should be in jail, not in MAL. He banned Trump, and helped in the suppression of Hunter's laptop, etc. Not to mention all the children that get raped because his platforms cover up for pedophiles," another netizen mentioned.

Donald Trump mentioned the same in context to a $420 million contribution that Mark Zuckerberg and his wife made to fund the election infrastructure during the 2020 election. Additionally, the president-elect mentioned in his book:
"He told me there was nobody like Trump on Facebook. But at the same time, and for whatever reason, steered it against me. We are watching him closely, and if he does anything illegal this time he will spend the rest of his life in prison — as will others who cheat in the 2024 Presidential Election."
According to a report by Newsweek dated November 27, 2024, in September 2024, the president-elect claimed that Mark Zuckerberg reached out to him after the first assassination attempt on his life in July 2024.
