Warrior Nun was a 2020 American fantasy drama Netflix series based on the comic book character Warrior Nun Areala by Ben Dunn. The show was created by Simon Barry and revolves around the lead character Ava Silva (played by Alba Baptista) a 19-year-old, quadriplegic orphan who wakes up with superpowers in the morgue and realizes that she is now a part of an ancient order called “Order of the Cruciform Sword”. She is tasked to team up with the other members of the order to fight off demons from the Earth with the help of her supernatural powers.

Season one of the show was released on July 2, 2020 and after the success of the first season, the show was green lit for a second season, that was later released on November 10, 2022. However, the show was canceled by Netflix but in 2023, the streaming giant announced that the series would be revived as a trilogy of featured films. However, it's unclear if Alba Baptista would reprise her role as Ava Silva in the feature films.
