Former United States President Donald Trump praised former First Lady Melania Trump's upcoming eponymous memoir, Melania, on X, sparking various reactions from netizens. On Thursday, September 26, the former POTUS posted a clip of Melania's Fox News interview on X, which was released on the same day, and wrote:

"CONGRATULATIONS to our incredible former First Lady—as her new book MELANIA hit #1 in the USA!"

In the video clip posted by Trump, Fox & Friends host Ainsley Earhardt asked the former First Lady and retired model why she wanted to tell her story in her memoir, to which Melania replied:

"I believe that it was the time that I tell my story and the truth. It is a lot of misinformation and falsehoods written about me and I want to put the record straight. And people can learn some things that were never discussed and I hope they enjoy the book."

Although Melania's memoir became the number-one bestselling book on Amazon via pre-orders, the public's reaction to the former president's tweet was mixed. One X user, @MR_TRANSP0RTER, commented:

"More lies."

Similar reactions followed as a few social media users claimed that the sales figures for the book were manipulated and false. Some netizens also weren't sure if the former FLOTUS wrote the book herself. Others further let the 2024 presidential candidate know that they won't be buying the book. Here are a few X reactions to Donald Trump's tweet.

"Somewhere there’s a warehouse full of her books, still in the boxes," said one X user.
"You're telling us someone that can't speak wrote a book," another user added.
"I’d rather belly flop on a porcupine. I’m good homie," proclaimed another netizen.

However, a slew of other social media users supported the former FLOTUS and gushed over how beautiful Melania was, hoping that she'd eventually take back her former position alongside her husband.

"We will all be so proud to have her back as our First Lady!" a user exclaimed.
"Congratulations, Melania. I can’t wait until you are our amazing, classy, graceful and beautiful FLOTUS again," added another.
"We love Melania," said another netizen.
"Well deserved!!" a user commented.

Melania Trump recalled both assassination attempts on her husband

To promote her memoir, Melania Trump did her first television interview in over 2 years, appearing on Fox News' Fox & Friends, alongside host Ainsley Earhardt. During the interview, the former FLOTUS recalled what she was doing when her husband got shot on July 13, 2024, during the infamous Butler rally, as detailed in her book.

Melania, at the time, was working while watching the rally but had to pause it to focus on her work. A few moments later, Donald Trump's chief of staff called and informed her that there had been a shooting but her husband was fine. She recalled,

"I ran to the TV and I rewind it and I watched it, I was only a few minutes behind, and something I guess looked over me, so I didn't really see it live, but maybe three minutes, a few minutes later. But when I saw it nobody really knew yet, because when you see him on the floor and you don't know what really happened."

She further talked about what she was doing during the second assassination attempt on her husband on September 15, when Secret Service agents noted a gun peering through the bushes when the former President was golfing at his course in West Palm Beach, Florida. At the time, the former FLOTUS was in New York. She recalled:

"I saw it on the television and as soon as I saw it on television, I called again and he was okay because the Secret Service were great, the guys, the team were fantastic."

Melania Trump added:

"I think both events, they were really miracles. If you really think about it, July 13 was a miracle. That much and he could not be with us."

Melania Trump's memoir, Melania, is set to be released on October 8. According to her official website, the book, currently available for pre-order, is priced at $40, with the signed version and collector's edition going for $75 and $250 respectively.
