10 most-searched male K-pop idols on YouTube in the US

As the reveal of YouTube's most-searched male K-pop idols in the US takes over the internet, the South Korean music industry has once again proved its ever-increasing popularity. The statistics were uploaded by an anonymous netizen through the South Korean online platform, theqoo.

What was once limited to the boundaries of Korea has grown large enough to dominate several parts of the world with its addictive music and all the other content that comes from the industries. With only five months into 2023, many K-pop idols have already established themselves around the world, specifically piquing curiosity in first-world nations like the US.

Two members from the third-generation K-pop group, Stray Kids, and almost all members of the world-famous group, BTS, sit on the country's list of YouTube's most-searched male K-pop idols. Here are the other artists who caught people's attention with their charisma and personality.

1) BTS' Jimin

Born on October 13, 1995, BTS' Jimin stands first on the list of most-searched male K-pop idols on YouTube. He first debuted back in 2013, along with the six other BTS members under Big Hit Entertainment, which has now expanded into HYBE LABELS.

The group's currently on a break due to military enlistments. Meanwhile, Jimin rolled out his first solo album, FACE, on March 24, 2023, which was very well-received by the masses. This is also the likely reason why the idol's searches peaked between the months of February and April.


2) BTS' Jungkook

BTS' Jungkook is the golden maknae of the world-dominating boy group and is next on the list of the most-searched male K-pop idols on YouTube. The idol was born on September 1, 1997, and the vocalist's most recent collaboration was becoming the latest brand ambassador for Calvin Klein. The news, along with the accompanying set of images that the idol shot with the cloth brand, had fans going gaga over the same.


3) BTS' SUGA

Another BTS member that sits on the list of YouTube's most-searched male K-pop idols is the group's second eldest and rapper, SUGA. Born on March 9, 1993, he was the latest member to roll out a solo album, D-Day.

Following the release of the successful album, the idol is currently making stops for his solo world tour, Agust D Tour. With a leg in the US ending on May 17, the idol will be moving on to his tour dates in Asia, with the first step in Indonesia.


4) EXO's Kai

The maknae of the eight-member boy group, EXO, also sits on the list of YouTube's most-searched male K-pop idols in the US. Born on January 14, 1994, the idol recently rolled out his third solo mini-album, Rover, which became a worldwide commercial success.

After the promotions of the same, on May 11, 2023, the idol left to fulfill his mandatory military enlistment.


5) BTS' V

Born December 30, 1995, BTS' V has been yet another active member with his personal ventures. While there haven't been many musical releases from the idol ever since the group's hiatus, V has been exploring other fields, more specifically fashion.

After being named as the luxury fashion brand, Celine's. brand ambassador, the idol's been busy with photoshoots with the brand to appearing at the pop event in Seoul.


6) BTS' j-hope

j-hope pops up next, continuing the dominance of BTS members on the list of YouTube's most-searched male K-pop idols in the US. Born on February 18, 1994, the idol was the first member of BTS to drop his solo debut album, Jack In The Box, which proved to be an effortless commercial success.

Most recently, on April 18, the idol became the group's second member to depart for his mandatory military service, where the news peaked his searched from February.


7) BIGBANG's Taeyang

Taeyang, also known as Dong Young-bae and SOL, was born on May 18, 1988, and made his debut under the group BIGBANG in 2006. The second-generation K-pop idol who's also famous for his solo works recently rolled out his mini-album, Down To Earth.

It marks his solo comeback after almost 10 years, since his last iconic album release, RISE in 2014. His latest album holds collaborations with several artists including BTS' Jimin, BLACKPINK's Lisa, and more.


8) Stray Kids' Hyunjin

The visual member of the third-generation group that is currently preparing for their comeback, 5-STAR, Hyunjin, also stands on the list of most-searched male K-pop idols on YouTube.

Born on March 20, 2000, the idol has consistently held a reputation for mesmerizing and capturing fans' attention with his alluring stage presence and unmatched charisma. With their upcoming album releasing on June 2, 2023, fans are excited to see yet another dimension of the idol.


9) Stray Kids' Felix

Accompanying Hyunjin on the preparations for their 5-STAR comeback is Felix, yet another member of the group. The idol was born on September 15, 2000, and given that he's known for experimentation with every comeback, fans are naturally intrigued to see what he has in store for them.

The album, which consisted of 10 tracks, was filled with iconic and legendary collaborations from artists around the world. Some of them include Anderson. Paak, Erykah Badu, Epik High's Tablo, Paul Blanco, Youjeen, and more.
