NCIS season 20 episode 22 (finale) recap: Was Evelyn the real mastermind behind the terrorist attack?
The son of a dreaded spy/criminal named Kostya Valokv was sent to prison. His son's name was Yuri Valokv. While prison is often considered one of the most dangerous places to be, Yuri was having the time of his life as he had a ton of sinister connections with inmates and the prison guards as well.
Torres learned about this and decided to enter the prison by pretending to be a criminal. The undercover cop changed his name to Manuel Delgado, aka. Manny, an armed robber sentenced to 10 years behind bars. Torres was completely unbothered by life in prison as his toughness was enough to scare anyone. He even took a stand against Yuri, who was already aware that there was an undercover cop within the four walls of the jail.
Both Yuri and his dangerous father were planning a terrorist attack against the USA. Yuri even warned his sister Evelyn that something disastrous was going to happen to the country. Since she didn't know the exact plan, she could not be provided with witness protection. However, she was aware that there was an undercover cop in the prison.
Torres gradually realized that Yuri maintained contact with his father from prison. The guards had even given him a phone to talk to his father. The father-son duo was planning to attack the United States' power grid. The DOD named this occurrence "Black Sky" as if the attack was successful the country would be doomed for eternity.
Torres was doing great winning Yuri's trust. However, right before Yuri was about to reveal details about the attack to him, a miscommunication led to his own men killing him. People began to believe that Kostya Valokv got his own son killed.
Suddenly, the city went dark and it was shockingly revealed that the real mastermind behind the plan was in fact, Evelyn. She had used a computer to hack the power grid. She planned everything carefully and managed to play everyone, including the NCIS team.
Her real name was Viktoria and she was later arrested from her home and sentenced to prison.
Torres realized that someone from his past was trying to harm him. He broke into this mysterious man's house and confronted him as he wanted to watch this man die.
The NCIS season 20 finale ended on this painstaking cliffhanger. The fate of Torres and this mysterious man remains to be solved.
