Former Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star Erica Mena took to Instagram on October 16 to reveal that her ex-husband, Safaree Samuels, had visited their children only 16 times this year. This comes in the midst of the latter requesting for the child support he is paying to be subsidized. Netizens have since taken to the internet to sympathize with the mother.
Although the social media post Erica Mena uploaded online remained unavailable on her official account at the time of writing this article, popular gossip blog The Shade Room shared screenshots of the same where she highlighted the small duration of Samuels spending time with their children.
Through the picture Mena shared online, one could see that Safaree only saw his children for less than a week in March, April, May, and July. Erica Mena also wrote in the caption of the social media post:
“Imagine trying to detect CS [child support] from your BM [baby mother] (when that’s they get grom you since he skips out on birthdays and Christmas by choice) and you only seen your kids 16 times this whole year so far. SMH but yet you act like you this big money man for the gram. And all you have to do is pick your kids up at school.”
The Shade Room reported in their caption that Safaree’s attorneys argued for his child support to be lowered as he spends more than the 12 days of prescribed time parenting the children. The lawyer also reportedly argued that “He consistently had the minor children in his physical custody for an average of 3-4 weeks during his time.”
Internet users were disheartened to hear that the children Safire Majesty Samuels and Legend Brian Samuels, who are both minors, were spending less time with Safaree. One netizen said:

On Wednesday, July 10, Mena took to her Instagram story to claim that Safaree failed to properly groom their children. She also shared photos of their son, Legend’s fuzzy braids, and Safire’s undone ponytail to prove her point. She then added:
“You already go months at a time in not seeing these babies by choice, you went two months this last go round. You finally pop out at Legend’s bday — empty-handed and NEVER offering to pay half for anything like always. You came for your quick once every few months photo opportunity with them and bounced.”
Mena then accused Samuels of putting their children into summer camp instead of taking care of them when they were with him. She claimed that his actions would interrupt their routine. She also alleged that Samuels was not paying for the school he chose to send the children to.
Safaree Samuels had not publicly addressed Erica Mena’s latest social media post at the time of writing this article.
