On September 26, 2023, EXO's D.O. appeared on Lee Mujin's live music and talk show, LeeMujin Service, where he performed several songs and participated in a live duet of the memorable song Goodbye Summer by the group f(x), which is currently on hiatus. The song was originally released in 2013 as part of the group's second album, Pink Tape, with contributions from Amber, Krystal, Luna, and D.O.

As EXO's D.O. and Lee Mujin sang the duet, fans found themselves reminiscing about the times when they used to listen to Goodbye Summer back in 2013, when f(x) was active in the K-pop industry. Hearing it performed live by the singer himself evoked strong emotions, leading them to take to social media to reflect on the memories they had from those years.

"Best gift ever": Fans can't get enough of EXO's D.O. singing Goodbye Summer after a long time

It's been almost more than a decade since they heard EXO's D.O. sing Goodbye Summer, and they just can't get enough of it. Many fans also stated that this is one of the few live performances of the aforementioned song that they have had the chance to hear from the idol. Even domestic fans noticed that there was not the slightest difference in the singer's vocals. In fact, he seems to get better every time they hear him sing Goodbye Summer.

Goodbye Summer provides a nostalgic feeling of old-school love during the summer season, which remains unconfessed. The protagonist, while reminiscing about the times she enjoyed with her crush, regrets not confessing her deep love for him. Now, the two are just friends, which she hates.

As EXO's D.O. sang the song after a long time, fans stated that his and Lee Mujin's vocals blended beautifully despite their contrasting tones. They took to social media to express their emotions.

Fans also complimented the duo, stating that they never knew they needed to hear such a beautiful version of Goodbye Summer and that it evoked nostalgic feelings among them. Many also stated that they need a collaboration now. Some even said that EXO's D.O.'s vocals made them feel like they were back in 2013.

Goodbye Summer is part of f(x)'s second studio album, Pink Tape, which gained widespread popularity at the time of its release. The album consists of twelve tracks, including Rum Pum Pum Pum, Shadow, Pretty Girl, Kick, Signal, Step, Airplane, Toy, Goodbye Summer, No More, Snapshot, and Ending Page.

Notably, Pink Tape was the only K-pop album featured on the US music channel Fuse among the 41 Best Albums of 2013.

Meanwhile, the group that introduced the iconic Goodbye Summer to the K-pop industry, f(x), initially consisted of five members, including Sulli, Victoria, Amber, Luna, and Krystal. Sulli left the group in 2015 to focus on her acting career, while the other members continued as part of the group. The group is currently on hiatus since the remaining four members decided not to renew their contracts with SM Entertainment.

Needless to say, fans really enjoyed the new version of Goodbye Summer and would love to listen to it again and again.

EXO's D.O. recently attended his offline fansign event, where he interacted with fans and took selfies with them as well.
