During his December 23 court appearance in Manhattan, Luigi Mangione, accused of fatally shooting UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, wore a maroon sweater over a white-collared shirt, grey pants, and tan shoes. A handcuffed photo of Mangione being escorted by officers has gone viral, drawing comparisons to Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated President John F. Kennedy in 1963.

Oswald’s handcuffed image wearing similar-looking attire, including a brown sweater paired with a white-collared shirt, khaki pants, black shoes with olive green socks, and being escorted by the authorities, has also begun circulating online.

In fact, many have created viral collages of Luigi Mangione and Lee Harvey Oswald’s photographs and shared wild reactions. For instance, X user @theRealSplad commented on parody content creator Thrilla the Gorilla’s post on the same.

“All actors. All staged. All lies from our government,” the user wrote.

Many people joined the conversation and shared similar reactions on the platform.

“The world is a stage, my friends,” a person wrote.
“You are watching a movie. Love how they parade around Luigi Mangione wearing the same type of shirt and sweater as Lee Harvey Oswald,” one person wrote.
“Lee Harvey Oswald vs. Luigi Mangione They are outright mocking us,” wrote another.

Others continued to chime in.

“Or setting up this ‘Déjà vu’ as a way of seeding the consciousness for MK Ultra disclosure...” a netizen wrote.
“I don't believe in coincidences!! Did we go Back to The Future...” another netizen asked.
“Same playbook on repeat,” an individual wrote.
“THE PEOPLE BESIDE HIM ARE WEARING THE SAME SH*T TOO! AND IN THE SAME ORDER!!” another individual wrote.

Notably, Gregory Carro, the judge who presided over Luigi Mangione’s case on Monday is the son of John Carro, the jurist and probation officer who dealt with Lee Harvey Oswald.

Luigi Mangione’s court sweater reportedly sold out in less than 24 hours

Luigi Mangione appeared in a Manhattan courtroom on Monday wearing a maroon-colored sweater. Initially, when his pictures went viral, it was presumed to be a $1000 Maison Margiela sweater. However, later, it was identified as a “washable Merino crewneck sweater” from Nordstrom, as per the Independent.

Ever since then, the sweater in question has seen a surge in demand. As a result, its price went down from $89.50 to $62.65 on a 30 percent discount. As per NDTV reports, the particular shade of the sweater even went out of stock in less than a day on the brand’s website. It also comes in six other colors.

Meanwhile, Luigi Mangione, who was arrested from a McDonald’s store in Altoona, Pennsylvania on December 9 is facing five federal felony charges in that state and 11 counts in New York, including first-degree murder, terrorism, multiple weapons possession, and forgery.

During his hearing earlier this week, the 26-year-old pleaded not guilty to all charges. Meanwhile, his attorney Karen Friedman Agnifilo expressed her concerns about her client receiving a fair trial due to high levels of security and attention on the case, such as NYC Mayor Eric Adams’ attendance during Luigi Mangione’s extradition from Pennsylvania last week.

"They are literally treating him like he is some sort of political fodder, like some sort of spectacle. He was on display for everyone to see in the biggest stage perp walk I've ever seen in my career, it was unnecessary. He's been cooperative with law enforcement..." Agnifilo stated.

She further mentioned that the New York Police Department has “no reason” to escort Mangione with “big assault rifles,” except making it a “perfectly choreographed” thing. The lawyer even claimed that Eric Adams’ presence at press conferences was unnecessary and “utterly political” seemingly referring to his ongoing bribery and campaign finance violation charges.

Luigi Mangione is suspected to have shot and killed Brian Thompson on the morning of December 4 when the 50-year-old UnitedHealthcare CEO was on his way to an investor’s meeting. Thompson is survived by his wife Paulette and two sons.
