Meghan Markle is returning to Netflix with her new lifestyle series titled With Love, Meghan, set to stream from January 15. This comes after the Duchess of Sussex launched her own Instagram page on January 1. Netizens have since taken to the internet to react to the upcoming series.

In the trailer that kicks off with a clip of Meghan Markle in a kitchen, a person can be heard saying in the background,

“Let’s make a show.”

It proceeds to show various guests who are set to be part of the short series, including friends of the Los Angeles-based royal, Prince Harry himself, and celebrities like Mindy Kaling, Roy Choi, and Alice Waters. Meghan Markle also says in the trailer:

“I’ve always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it. Surprising people with moments that let them know I was really thinking of them… I’m going to share some little tips and tricks… And how you incorporate these practices every day.”

The mother of two also says in the trailer:

“We are not in the pursuit of perfection, we’re in the pursuit of joy.”

Netizens have since taken to social media to react to the trailer, with one person saying:

Many internet users found the series’ concept similar to Martha Stewart’s brand and her shows like Martha Bakes, Martha Stewart’s Cooking School, and From Martha’s Garden, among others.

Internet users seemed to be divisive over the upcoming show. While many opined that she should not be releasing a show of her own, some commented on the upcoming content. Comments online read:

“I’m sorry, but there are content creators on IG that are far more compelling and deserving of this show/ opportunity,” an X user said.
“Brutal! No thanks! Read the room,” another platform user said.
“Thanks I’d rather bathe in battery acid,” a netizen said.

The last time Meghan Markle released content with the streaming platform was back in 2022—Harry & Meghan, which was a tell-all series where the couple opened up about their exit from the British Royal Family. Meanwhile, other reactions from users read:

“Who asked for this? Nobody wants this,” an X user said.
“No thanks, I’ll support their privacy tout by not watching,” a netizen said.
“I remember why I boycotted you,” a platform user said.

As the series amassed much backlash, fans of Meghan Markle also flooded the internet with supportive messages that read:

“Love this for her. Aligned to her good old blogging days. Can’t wait,” an X user said.
“Love the concept already,” an internet user said.
“This is the trajectory that started with The Tig! So happy to see her reclaiming her space,” a platform user said.

More about the upcoming Meghan Markle series as the trailer leaves netizens divided

The Netflix original lifestyle series was born out of her and Prince Harry’s Archwell Productions’ $100 million deal with the streaming platform. The show that will follow Markle roaming around her meticulously crafted garden, choosing fresh flowers, harvesting honey, kneading homemade bread, and cooking in a white kitchen will include eight episodes that will be released in full.

With Love, Meghan is directed by Michael Steed, the man behind legendary series like Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, and Leah Hariton, who’s behind Selena Gomez’ Selena + Chef cooking show.

The upcoming show seems to be an extension of Markle’s lifestyle brand, The Tig, that was shut down after her engagement to Prince Harry. Through The Tig, Markle showed followers her favorite eateries, fashion outlets, shared behind-the-scenes secrets, and more.

Last March, Markle also launched her own American Riviera Orchard lifestyle brand, which is yet to launch products.
