Blake Lively who recently sued It Ends With Us director and actor Justin Baldoni, has claimed that the alleged "smear campaign" affected the sales of her haircare and drink brands by about 78%. The Daily Mail reported on January 5 that Blake had sought "punitive damages" in a new lawsuit against Baldoni.

In the latest lawsuit filed on December 31, the actress claimed that there had been a significant drop in the sales of the brands since the conflict unfolded. The outlet further mentioned that while the first suit was filed with the California Civil Rights Commission, the new one was filed in the federal court in New York.

For the unaware, Blake Lively has a haircare line named Blake Brown, and two drink brands named Betty Buzz and Betty Booze. The latest lawsuit that claimed that the alleged "social manipulation campaign" negatively impacted the sales, further read:

"Based on internal sales projections, the sudden and unexpected negative media campaign launched against Ms. Lively depressed retail sales of Blake Brown products by 56-78 per cent."

It continued:

"This dramatic drop was completely at odds with the high satisfaction scores that Blake Brown products received in the significant consumer testing performed before launch or its initial success after launch."

According to the lawsuit, around the same time that the sales were affected, the social media pages of Betty Buzz and Betty Booze were apparently filled with negative comments. This further circulated across other media forms as well.

In the latest lawsuit, Blake Lively hasn't just sought "punitive damages" but also "a money judgment representing compensatory damages, lost wages, earning, and all other sums of money," plus 'interest' on the above "in an amount to be proven at trial." The suit has also mentioned that an "award of money judgment" should be given for all the mental and emotional distress that Blake had to go through.

Blake Lively's attorneys claimed that she faced strong retaliation after she made the allegations against Justin Baldoni

In a statement to The Daily Mail, which was published through an article dated January 5, Blake Lively's lawyers claimed that the actress had been facing "retaliation and attacks", since she decided "to speak up" against Justin Baldoni.

Blake filed the first lawsuit against Justin on December 20 and the second one on December 31. The new suit was filed the same day Justin sued and initiated a $250M libel action against The New York Times for first reporting the complaints made by Blake.

As per NBC News's January 2 interview, Justin's lawyer Bryan Freedman answered affirmatively when asked if the actor was planning to sue Blake. He further stated:

"We plan to release every single text messages between the two of them." We want the truth to be out there. We want the documents to be out there. We want people to make their determination based on receipts."

According to a January 3 exclusive by PEOPLE, the list of complainants would include Justin Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios, publicist Jennifer Abel, and crisis publicist Melissa Nathan.

As reported by the same outlet, they were planning to sue Blake Lively, her publicist Leslie Sloane, and Baldoni's ex-publicist Stephanie Jones. Freedman, however, did not reveal any exact date as to when the counter-suit could be filed. It was reported that the possible counter-suit would be in response to Blake's first suit against Baldoni.
