DDG and Halle Bailey celebrated their son Halo's first birthday on December 22, 2024. The couple, who split up in October 2024, each wished their son on social media, with Bailey uploading a picture of her holding him as a newborn on Instagram.
Meanwhile, DDG posted a picture of Halo and a cupcake with a "1" candle with the caption, "THE BEST BABY IN THE WORLD JUST TURNED 1!" In a follow-up post, DDG included a picture of several celebrities, including Kim Kardashian and Travis Scott, holding Halo, who appeared to be sleeping in all pictures.
It is unclear when or where the photos were taken, however, some carnival rides can be seen in the background.
The post, which received 3.9 million views at the time of this article, left netizens marveling at baby Halo's run-in with several high-profile celebrities.
"Bro is the main character," one person tweeted.
Many echoed this sentiment, posting that Halo seemed to be enjoying life.
"Enjoying life at peace," one person posted.
"Wait halo is friends with kim Kardashian," another person added.
"D*mn halo got motion," someone else commented.
"Halo said they're taking a picture with ME not the other way around," another netizen wrote.
Meanwhile, many netizens were seemingly baffled at the man in a Jason Voorhees-esque mask holding Halo. Many believed the man to be Kanye West, however, there is no confirmation regarding the same. West was seen wearing the Friday the 13th villain's mask at his son's basketball game in February 2024.
"Something tells me this is Kanye," one person speculated.
"It’s so hilarious how everyone thinks the person on mask is Kanye and I think so too," another person said.
"Ofc Kanye with that d*mn mask," someone else commented.
"Lmfao kanye is so unserious w this mask on," another user posted.
DDG's son Halo became a famous meme
Halo is the latest celebrity baby to have taken the internet by storm, already becoming a meme one year into his life. A video of the baby reacting to a kiddie ride went viral on the internet in September 2024, causing an uptick of hilarious meme content on social media.
The meme emerged after DDG and Halo went on a kiddie ride at a mall. Halo's expression seemed terrified throughout the ride, and an image of his face became a widely used reaction image on social media in the following weeks.
Both Halle Bailey and DDG reacted to their son becoming a meme, with the former posting one such meme with a laughing emoji and the other jokingly asking who was responsible for this. DDG also took things a step further, taking his son back to the same mall to recreate the viral meme.
Halle Bailey and DDG welcomed Halo in December 2023, after months of speculations about The Little Mermaid actress expecting a child. Bailey kept her pregnancy a secret, revealing in a 2024 ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards interview that she chose to do so because she was under "no obligation" to expose him.
“There was no way in hell I was going to share the biggest joy of my world with anyone. Halo was my gift. He is the greatest blessing, and I had no obligation to expose him, me, or my family to that,” she said.
Bailey revealed on social media that she struggled with postpartum depression following Halo's birth. Bailey and DDG announced their separation just two months before Halo's first birthday, adding it was the "best path forward" for them.
