Chicago P.D.’s Hailey Upton set to leave the show- Find out when

Detective Hailey Upton on Chicago P.D., played by Tracy Spiridakos, will leave the NBC series as per a report from Variety. The precise date of her departure from the upcoming season is yet to be announced.

Tracy Spiridakos's time on NBC's Chicago P.D. will end with the upcoming (shortened) eleventh season. She will leave the Wolf Entertainment police drama after serving as a series regular for seven seasons.

The impending departure of Spiridakos, which is understood to be her choice, comes after her on-screen spouse, Jay Halstead, played by Jesse Lee Soffer, left Chicago P.D. during the previous season.

Detective Hailey Upton bids farewell to Chicago P.D. after eight seasons

Tracy Spiridakos has portrayed Detective Hailey Upton Halstead in the show since season 4. The character Hailey Upton is a former homicide and robbery investigator. Despite having a difficult beginning as partners, Hailey and Jay Halstead's relationship eventually developed into a romance and marriage.

Before making a permanent appearance with the team in season 5, Spiridakos made her debut in recurring roles in season 4. Her character also appeared on the series Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and FBI in crossover episodes featuring the Chicago P.D.

Her departure from the show makes her the second Halstead to do so. The husband of Spiridakos's character, Detective Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), stated in August that he was leaving the show after ten seasons. Before Jay's character was finally written off, Soffer made an appearance in 189 episodes of the show before leaving Intelligence to accept a position in the Bolivian army.

In the third episode of season 10, which concluded in May, Tracy's character was left to deal with the aftermath of her husband Jay Halstead's unexpected departure. Halstead had ceased answering his phone and had neglected to tell her that he had prolonged his time abroad before leaving for Bolivia to pursue the most dangerous cartel targets.

Tracy Spirkados is a Canadian actress who made her television debut on the hit series Supernatural with a small part. She was cast in her first lead role as 15-year-old Becky Richards in the Canadian Teletoon series Majority Rules! in 2009. In 2011, she starred in her first feature film, Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Before joining Chicago P.D., Tracy Spirkados starred in the NBC drama series Revolution.

The SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes delayed the start date for season 11, and it has not yet been announced. Although the SAG strike is still going strong, early this month the writers were allowed to return to work. Gwen Sigan is set to return as the showrunner.
