Chrissy Teigen recently shared a health update about her and John Legen's son, Miles. This was after his monitor was spotted in a photo of their 2024 Olympics appearance that the cookbook author and model shared on social media.
Teigen reshared the said picture on Wednesday, July 31, on Instagram alongside a lengthy statement about Miles's Type-1 diabetes diagnosis, saying:
"A couple weeks ago, our Miles was sick, in the hospital, with a terrible case of shigella, an intestinal infection caused by bacteria in food and water. A lot of his friends were also sick with it, as they went to the same camp as well, it happens!"
The media personality noted that while at the hospital, her son's doctor noticed "something was off" in his blood test. She also said that it is often how kids get diagnosed with Type-1—they go to the hospital for something else.
After more tests, she said that the doctor finally knew what was wrong:
"After more testing, we learned he is in the "honeymoon period" of a lifetime of T1."
Teigen, who just welcomed her third child with Legend, further shared an update about Miles's condition:
"Last night we gave him his first shot of insulin and here we go! A different, new world for us and we are certainly learning so much on the fly."
She also included a preview of a book she and John were reading for Miles. In it, the child has Type-1 diabetes, and his father is telling him how brave he is to handle the pain when he's taking a shot before bedtime.
Elsewhere in the statement, Chrissy Teigen thanked everyone who reached out and shared "incredible words" and encouragement.
Chrissy Teigen spent a day supporting Team USA with her kids Luna and Miles in Paris
Before sharing Miles's health update on social media, Chrissy Teigen was with her children, daughter Luna and son Miles, at the French capital to support Team USA and Simone Biles for the Summer Olympics.
In the picture that she shared on her Instagram account, the same photo where netizens noticed Miles's glucose monitor, the three are holding their "SIMONE" sign to support the award-winning Olympic gymnast.
Before that, Chrissy, John Legend, Luna, and Miles were spotted during the opening ceremony of the world's biggest sporting event. The mother-and-son duo attended the star-studded opening at the French capital's iconic Eifel Tower in a coordinated green top and shorts.
Meanwhile, the All of Me hitmaker opted to look dapper in a classic black suit and white shirt as Luna sported a chic, bedazzled baby pink dress with a matching glittery handbag.
The family outing at the opening ceremony was rainy but nonetheless an "absolutely epic experience," according to Chrissy Teigen in the caption, adding that she got to see some of her favorite people.
