Multi-time world champion and Olympic gold medalist Claressa Shields has declared that 2025 will mark the start of her Beyoncé era, a time of personal and professional focus free from distractions. On December 25, 2024, Claressa Shields addressed her Instagram followers in a story suggesting she would not participate in any weigh-ins for fights in the coming year.

Shields's statement came after an ongoing controversy involving Remy Ma, Papoose, and herself. She emphasized that those attempting to embroil her in conflicts should refrain, as she has no intention of participating.

"I'm Beyonce, baby. Some of the battles that people be trying to put on me. I ain't even got to fight because ya'll going to do it for me. I appreciate you'll, but listen to me. I'm telling ya'll this, listen to me. 2025. I'm Beyonce, baby. I'm not responding to a thing," Claressa Shields said.

The controversy began on December 12, 2024, when Remy Ma publicly accused her husband, Papoose, of infidelity, alleging he had been unfaithful with Claressa Shields. Remy Ma fueled the conversation by sharing screenshots of alleged text messages between her husband and Shields on her Instagram account.

Claressa Shields plans to focus on drama-free 2025 amid controversy involving Remy Ma and Papoose

On Wednesday, Claressa Shields addressed her followers on Instagram, sharing a story in which she announced she is entering her Beyoncé era. She said she would not engage in any disputes or respond to allegations involving her, regardless of their nature.

"2025, I'm changing. New year, new me. I'm Beyonce. I'm focusing on the love a lot more, y'all," Shields said.

Shields said that her decision to remain silent stems from her belief that focusing on negativity only fosters more negativity. Instead, the Olympic gold medalist intends to channel her energy into her career and personal growth, avoiding distractions from public dramas.

"Because focusing on the hate just make you hateful don't it," Claressa Shields added.

The controversy that Shields referenced stems from the turbulent marriage of Remy Ma and Papoose, which has been under public scrutiny for months. Speculation about their relationship began in July 2024, when Remy Ma used her maiden name in the credits for her song Ghetto & Ratchet (Remix).

The couple remained silent until December 12, 2024, when Remy Ma posted a now-deleted Instagram post featuring screenshots of alleged text messages between Papoose and Claressa Shields. In the exchange, Shields purportedly expressed dissatisfaction with Papoose for not spending enough time with her.

The post was captioned with claims that Remy discovered the messages when Papoose inadvertently left his phone unlocked while sleeping.

"Papoose dum a** fell asleep on the phone with @claressashields 😂😂😂 Laying in my house, he refuses to leave . This bi**h supposed to be a world champion boxer and get scary a** hung up soon as she heard my voice 😂😂😂 Nowwww I'm telling everything ohhhh and babygirl u not the only one🤷🏾‍♀️," Remy Ma wrote in a caption.

The situation escalated when Claressa Shields responded in the post's comments, suggesting that Remy had "two boyfriends." Remy retorted by asking if that was what Papoose had told her.

"This can't be serious! You have 2 boyfriends," Shields wrote.

Shields later reiterated her stance on Instagram, accusing Remy of having multiple partners. She questioned why she was singled out if Papoose was allegedly involved with other women. Remy Ma did not respond to Shields' comments.

On December 18, 2024, Papoose added his perspective to the drama, accusing Remy Ma of infidelity with battle rapper Eazy The Block Captain and revealing he had been contemplating divorce for some time.

In turn, Remy Ma accused Papoose of domestic violence. Papoose has not responded to these allegations, and neither he nor Remy has addressed Shields' comments as of now.
