The internet has been buzzing with claims that In-N-Out Burger responded to the long-standing debate surrounding its use of beef tallow in its fries, especially after a viral tweet involving tech mogul Elon Musk.

On December 16, 2024, a tweet from the account @innoutburger_ went viral, claiming that the fast food chain received numerous requests to switch its fries to beef tallow. The tweet gained further attention when Elon Musk, CEO of X and Tesla, commented, indicating that the account was fake. As a result, the fast food restaurant has not responded to the ongoing beef tallow fries debate.

The tweet has received mixed reactions on X, with some users pointing out that Americans typically do not use beef tallow in their fry preparation. However, there were also comments suggesting that the restaurant should consider using beef tallow for frying.

"I don't know where RFK got his retarded “beer tallow" idea. It's not a RETVRN to anything. Americans NEVER used beef tallow to fry a damn thing. If they used animal fat, they used lard. As for In-n-out, their menu literally hasn't changed since 1948. Including their oil," one commented.
"Correct. This is why. Do it, @InNOut!" another on X.

The beef tallow debate has been a point of contention on the internet for quite some time, with consumers divided on the issue. Many argue that French fries fried in beef fat are unhealthy, while others contend that this preparation method is key to preserving the flavor, as noted by Southern Kitchen.

In-N-Out Burger did not react to the beef tallow fries debate

As mentioned, on December 16, 2024, a tweet from the account @innoutburger_ went viral on X, claiming that the fast food chain had received numerous requests from consumers asking them to switch their French fries to beef tallow fries.

However, it was quickly revealed that this account was not the official In-N-Out Burger account. In the comment section, Elon Musk pointed this out, stating that @innoutburger_ was not a legitimate account. He further expressed hope that the official fast food owners might consider making the change to beef tallow fries.

"💯. Even though you are fake In-N-Out, I hope the real one listens," Musk said.

Musk's comment alone does not confirm the account's inauthenticity. The @innoutburger_ account had also commented under a Tesla owner's post on X, indicating that it was not the official account.

Additionally, in a separate tweet, the account expressed excitement over Musk's reply, which further suggested its unofficial nature.

"Currently just a level 5 employee for In-N-Out at an undisclosed location. And I agree. I hope corporate listens. It's for the better good of the people," the account wrote.
"Wait did Elon Musk really reply to me? 🫨," the account further wrote.

Moreover, the bio on the X account clearly states that it is not affiliated with In-N-Out Burger, identifying the user as a "level five employee" and including the term "fan" in the username.

"Quality you can taste. Your typical level 5 employee. Not affiliated with In-N-Out," the bio reads.

Given these indicators, it is clear that the tweet came from a fan or fake account rather than the official profile. As of now, the real fast food chain has not responded to the tweet.

Regarding In-N-Out french fries preparation, the fast food chain shared a post on Instagram on March 9, 2024, confirming that they fry their fries in sunflower oil, a method they have used consistently since 1948.

"We pride ourselves on making our fries the same way since 1948. We only use the freshest potatoes - each potato is peeled, diced, and cooked in 100% sunflower oil. We're the true definition of made-to-order freshness," the caption reads.

The fast food restaurant was founded on October 22, 1948, in Baldwin Park, California, United States, by Harry Snyder and Esther Snyder. Since then, it has opened 334 outlets in six states —California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Texas, and Oregon.
