A recent Facebook post, uploaded on December 24, claimed that Twitches actress and the twin sister of Tamera Mowry, Tia Mowry, has passed away. The post, uploaded by Facebook user ေဒၚေထြး က်င္, stated:
“02:04:04 (R.I.P.) With deep sorrow, We report the sad news of 'Sister, Sister' star Tia Mowry, goodbye Tia Mowry….”
The post also had four pictures attached to it; one hazy picture of a supposed car crash, along with one seemingly photoshopped picture of Tia Mowry in a frame, with the words “RIP. Rest in peace” beside the photo. The post also had a picture of some people dressed in black, crying around a white casket while carrying it, alongside another framed picture of Tia.
Soon after the rumor went viral, confused internet users expressed their sadness and grief, as they took to the post to write their condolences. The post was uploaded to a Facebook group called 'Maurice sam.'
The post also directed the audience to another presumably fake news site called 'Premuim News' (premuimnew.store), which covered the same news. However, the post is fake and the news is false, as there have been multiple similar fake posts regarding Tia in the past. Furthermore, no other major news publication has reported on the same.
Additionally, Facebook user Mattie Purosky took to the platform on December 7 to debunk the entire rumor. Meanwhile, Tia has remained active on social media since the fake news broke and has uploaded posts and stories on Instagram in the last 24 hours, as of this writing.

The fake post of Premuim News directed readers to a YouTube video uploaded by 'B&B TV SPOILERS' on November 29, 2024, with a caption that read:
“With deep sorrow, We report the sad news of 'Sister, Sister' star Tia Mowry, goodbye Tia...”
Additionally, another YouTube account called Celebrity Archive uploaded the same piece of news on November 7, with the caption that read:
“5 minutes ago/ R.I.P Tia Mowry passed away at the age of 46, goodbye and rest.”
This is not the first time Tia Mowry has come into the limelight recently. She left her 14-year marriage in October 2022, as she and her now ex-husband Cory Hardrict called it quits. Meanwhile, as per Essence's November 15 report, the actress apparently hinted that Hardrict was unhappy because Tia's career was succeeding more than his.
Shortly before the publication of the article, the actress spoke with Jackeé Harry, her former co-star from Sister, Sister, on an episode of Tia Mowry: My Next Act. The two were having a discussion about dating after a divorce, and as reported by Essence, Harry said during the chat:
“If I might say, somebody else was dissatisfied that they weren’t working. One partner makes more money or has more success is a gap that is so hard and that can’t work. You can’t have competition. It just does not work.”
The actress further added:
"You can't stop your career because you want to even it out. But I already told him [Hardrict]. I said, 'I'm on Tia’s side.' I know you gotta choose sides when there's a divorce. I don’t want him to feel bad."
Tia then said during the confessional that she feared she might be repeating the mistakes she made during her marriage after her divorce. She then added that, at the moment, it would be difficult for her to balance working, being a mother, and having a demanding dating life.
Additionally, Mowry frequently shares realistic dating-related TikTok videos and has been candid about her post-divorce recovery process.
