A recent tweet by X user (@wildbarestepf), made on January 10, included Elon Musk's name and drew a connection to Wernher von Braun and his science fiction novel, Project Mars. It read:

"Fast forward to 1953 and Wernher von Braun—the father of rocket science—publishes a book about humans colonizing Mars led by a guy literally called Elon!!! And today we’ve got Elon Musk, who runs Tesla (named after Nikola Tesla!) and is obsessed with getting us to Mars..."

The tweet didn't go unnoticed and Elon reacted to it. The Tesla CEO wrote:

"Just a coincidence 😉."

In May 2021, The Sun UK published an article in which they mentioned a science fiction novel titled Project Mars, in which Von Braun mentioned a man named Elon colonizing Mars in his novel. A passage of the book reportedly mentioned a group of ten men who built the Martian government. For those unaware, Von Braun was a prominent figure in developing rocket technology during the Nazi era in Germany.

According to a May 2021 article by The New York Post, Musk was considered one of the many billionaires who had plans of allegedly colonizing Mars. In April 2021, he told Peter Diamandis, founder and chairman of the X Prize Foundation for scientific discovery, that many might die in the beginning, while trying to reach Mars. He said:

"You might die, it’s going to be uncomfortable and probably won’t have good food."

He then continued that the experience was not for everyone. Elon Musk, however, also described the experience to be "glorious" and "amazing."

The outlet further reported that by the time of its publication, Elon Musk's company had already more than a hundred rockets in the past ten years. The purpose of these rockets reportedly was to carry tourists to Mars and the moon. The Tesla CEO had already predicted that they could have humans on the planet by 2026.

Elon Musk believed that making life multiplanetary could prove to be positive

In October 2024, while talking at the Town Hall in Philadelphia, Elon Musk spoke about having life on another planet. He believed that if life was multiplanetary, there could come a time when certain plants and animals would perish on Earth, but thrive on Mars. He added:

"I do think there is an important threshold if we are able to make life multiplanetary, that you can get to the point on Mars where Mars can grow by itself, even if the resupply ships from Earth stop coming."

He concluded the speech by stating, "Mars may play that same role on Earth," likening Mars to America, which he claimed saved the world.

In October 2024, Musk shared his views about the costs of living on Mars through X. According to the Tesla CEO, the cost would significantly be reduced, making it possible for people to experience it. According to the tweet, shared on October 15, he claimed that rocket technology has to be improved by a 1000 times.

As for the latest tweet revealing the mention of "Elon," in the science novel, many netizens thought there could be an actual connection.
