Kim Kardashian is trending on social media after she posted a glimpse of her Tesla robot. The news comes a few months after Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced through X (formerly Twitter) that the production of humanoid robots is scheduled to begin in 2025 for the company's internal use.
Kim shared a video on the same platform on November 18, 2024, which started with the camera focusing on the robot. The Dash Dolls star was spotted making a half-heart with her hand and the robot completed it as Kim went closer. After that, she was heard saying:
"You know how to do that?"
The robot even waved when Kim said "Hi" and the machine made a few moves that resembled walking and flying. The caption of her latest post simply stated:
"Meet my new friend @Tesla."
Meanwhile, netizens took to the comments section of Pop Base on X to share their reactions to Kim's post. One of them also wrote:
"Does that mean Elon will be watching her 24/7????"
Similar responses continued with references to Elon Musk, alongside a user claiming that Kim Kardashian aimed to flaunt her expensive ring.
"Elon Musk through Kim Kardashian's new Tesla robot", a user wrote.
"She just want to show us her million dollar Diamond ring", a netizen wrote on X.
Other comments read:
Oh to be a billionaire playing with robots in their free time", a reaction on X reads.
"Ur unemployed friend on a Monday", one of the reactions mentioned.
"He gonna steal that diamond ring", another user stated on X.
Kim Kardashian shared a few more videos of the robot on Instagram
While Kim's post on X grabbed a lot of attention, she posted a lineup of Instagram Stories on the same day, featuring the Tesla robot. Kim Kardashian recorded the robot on camera as he was seen doing different moves. She even reposted the same video she shared on X.
The robot also gave a flying kiss a few times while Kim guided the machine on how to do the same. She said in the background:
"You're so cute."
The robot moved his head in both directions a few times and gave a thumbs-up on both hands. Kim even played rock-paper-scissors with the robot, who eventually gave a sign in the end, hinting that he had no idea about the game.
In another clip, Kim Kardashian gave a closer look at a golden Tesla robot and in a separate video, the same robot was spotted sitting inside a Tesla Cybercab of the same color. However, Kim has yet to reveal whether she has bought the products or was having a trial of them.
As mentioned, Elon Musk confirmed the production of humanoid robots through a social media post this year. According to a report by TechCrunch in July 2024, Musk claimed during an earnings call that there has been a demand for around 20 billion units of the robots and he finalized the number by combining 8 billion individuals who want it with the industrial use cases.
