Clinton Kane took to his TikTok account on July 13, 2024, to post 29 videos in response to his ex-girlfriend Brooke Schofield’s allegations. This came after the latter accused the musician of lying throughout their relationship on June 26.
She also claimed that the duo dated for seven months, but Kane attempted to debunk this as he clarified that while they were together only for three months, they went on to “see” each other later on. To prove the same, he shared his Google Calendar, which included details about the dates the former couple went on.
Brooke earlier also mentioned that Kane allegedly cheated on her, lied to her about the death of his mom and brother, about growing up in Australia, and more. Netizens soon took to social media to react to his response to his ex's claims and called him out for not addressing how "he lied about his whole life story."
Several netizens called out Kane after his lengthy series and supported Brooke Schofield.
“I think Brooke Schofield should be allowed to beat Clinton Kane with a bat,” one X user said.
“Clinton Kane is the only person in history who can play the part of the victim whilst openly telling you they’ve lied about their mom and brothers death, admit to pathologically cheating on their partner, love bombing them, and being a man child. Case study for real,” another internet user added.
Netizens also noticed that he had turned off his comments online and noted that he shared a lengthy series but failed to address the alleged lies Brooke Schofield spoke about.
“clinton kane having all his comments off says alot. hes so funny i love listening to liars lie,” one individual wrote.
“Clinton Kane’s 20 part series about Brooke Schofield is the equivalent of when you send a man a paragraph and he responds to the most irrelevant part of it,” an X user said.
“clinton kane dropped 27 videos about brooke and his relationship but not ONE explains why he lied about his dead mom??? lol the most lukewarm tea ever who’s the yapper now,” another internet user stated.
“clinton kane turn your comments on dont be shy,” a platform user jokingly said.
What did Brooke Schofield say about Clinton Kane?
Several netizens were upset to see Kane not clarify Schofield’s claims about him allegedly lying about his mother's death. In Schofield’s TikTok series, she claimed that Kane lied to her about his mother and brother having passed away throughout their relationship.
Brooke Schofield also said that the musician had created songs about his mother and spoken about her alleged demise in podcast interviews. The influencer said on TikTok:
“He tells me his mom, his dad, and his brother all died in the same year, which is f**king horrible, like obviously just unimaginable. So, I’m like blown away.”
Schofield then revealed that after she grew suspicious about his lies, she managed to get hold of his mother on Facebook and confronted him about her. She told him that she had spoken to his mom and added that "that got him."
"He finally admitted that he did, in fact, fake the death of his mom and his brother. I guess it’s like a positive. If you think about all his songs about how he wishes he could just talk to his mom one more time, it’s like, ‘Call her,’" she said.
Brooke Schofield also alleged in her TikTok videos that Kane lied to her about where he was from, among many other things.
How did Clinton Kane respond?
Clinton Kane said in his series that he was the first to say “I love you” and not Schofield, as she claimed in her TikTok videos. While sharing screenshots of conversations and Venmo transactions in his series, he also condemned the Cancelled podcast co-host, Schofield, for recording their heated arguments, which Kane reportedly did not consent to.
Clinton Kane also stated online that he would often let Brooke Schofield spend time with her friends, while the latter claimed otherwise. The I Guess I’m In Love crooner was also seemingly upset that Schofield claimed that the Cancelled podcast, which she hosts with Tana Mongeau, has more listeners than his music. He went on to share statistics to prove that he has more listeners.
While ending the series, he revealed that he had apologized to the influencer privately, and stated that “all [he] can do and [has] done is learn and be better.”
It remains to be seen if Schofield and Kane continue to discuss the matter on social media.
