Social media is abuzz with reactions to actor Haley Joel Osment's latest video clip, where he humorously portrays author and politician JD Vance doing a seemingly simple task—buying a donut.
On October 2, 2024, a clip lasting approximately two minutes went viral on the social media platform X. In the video, actor Haley Joel Osment is seen wearing a blue coat and red tie—closely resembling the typical attire of JD Vance, including the outfit he wore during his own widely publicized stop at a bakery to purchase donuts.
The clip has garnered significant attention online, with many users commenting on the striking similarities between Osment's portrayal and Vance's real-life appearance.
"'Doornuts' from now on," one wrote.
Several users on X praised Haley Joel Osment for his spot-on portrayal of JD Vance, with many suggesting that he delivered an exceptional performance and "absolutely nailed" the role. Some even commented that this was Osment's best work to date, highlighting his ability to capture the nuances of Vance's persona with remarkable precision.
"Holy sh*t, that was so good - he nailed it!" one wrote.
"Haley Joel Osment was perfect casting. Did you see him in Blink Twice, too?" a netizen commented.
"So good, lmao," another remarked.
Additionally, many users humorously suggested that Donald Trump might regret his decision to endorse JD Vance as a Vice President. However, these comments are not directed at Vance himself; instead, they imply that Trump's potential regret would stem from the mockery of Vance.
"I am Donald J Trump, and I regret this decision," one said on X.
"He said when do you spawn," a netizen hilariously remarked.
"He should play JD on SNL!" another commented for Osment.
As the video clip continues to trend, it has become clear that Osment's portrayal of Vance has resonated with audiences. However, JD Vance and Donald Trump have not reflected on the video yet.
Osment's hilarious take on JD Vance's bakery visit in Georgia
On Wednesday, a clip of Haley Joel Osment was posted on X, which humorously depicts high profiles' everyday struggles. In this exaggerated scenario, Osment enters a bakery and engages in a conversation with the salesperson, before comically breaking the glass display to retrieve a donut himself.
The clip also features Osment hilariously interacting with a pregnant woman and an African-American laborer, adding to the comedic elements of the scene.
However, on August 22, 2024, the actual scene was quite different. JD Vance entered Holt's Sweet Shop in Valdosta, Georgia, where he interacted amicably but awkwardly with the salesperson. He requested that she take some donuts out for him, which she did.
Later, in an interview with NBC News, Vance expressed sympathy for the bakery worker, noting that she was not properly warned about the numerous secret agents and cameras accompanying his visit.
"I just felt terrible for that woman. We walked in, and there's 20 Secret Service agents, and there's 15 cameras, and she clearly had not been properly warned, and she was terrified, right? I just felt awful for her," Vance said.
This is not the first time Osment has portrayed Vance. Following the presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris on September 11, 2024, Osment appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live as JD Vance to comment on it.
During his comic portrayal, Osment referred to Trump as a "daddy" and further engaged the audience with a humorous and relatable perspective on family life.
"On behalf of my wife, Usha, who I assure you exists, and my children — I believe there are two — welcome... and it's not weird at all. I call all strong American men who inspire me, daddy," Osment said.
Along with Haley Joel Osment, the comic segment had Josh Meyers portraying California Governor Gavin Newsom and James Adomian delivering a dedicated performance as MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell.
The United States Presidential Elections will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
