According to Variety, actor Brian Cox has submitted his performance in Succession season 4 as Logan Roy for Lead Actor in a Drama at the Emmys. His iconic character was unfortunately axed in episode 3 of the ongoing scene, as the future of Waystar Royco now hangs by a thread. It is still unsure who will be the next boss as Logan's children are still at war for its ownership.

Jeremy Strong, who plays his son, Kendall Roy, has been hell-bent on complete ownership of the company since the start of the HBO series. While Logan believes in traditional business strategies, Kendall's ideas are mostly futuristic. Strong's portrayal of Logan's troublesome son has been nothing short of brilliant, and fans on Twitter are disheartened to see him getting ignored by the Emmys.

Twitter baffled by Brian Cox's Emmy submission for Succession season 4

Brian Cox's Logan Roy passed away in the third episode of Succession season 4. So out of the ten episodes, he has appeared in only three. While Logan Roy is one of the show's most beloved characters, netizens are unhappy that his son Kendall Roy isn't receiving enough love from the Emmys.

Jeremy Strong's performance as Logan's son has been appreciated since the show's first episode. People, in fact, believe that he is the main protagonist alongside his father and deserves a lot more attention. They are baffled that he is not being considered for an Emmy and say he deserves it more than Brian Cox for season 4.

Here is how fans on Twitter responded to the news under the original post shared by Discussing Cinema:

Fans want Jeremy Strong to receive the same treatment Brian Cox gets for the show. They even said that Matthew Macfadyen, who portrays Tom Wambsgans, should win the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series away once again like he did last year.

Some fans think Cox has no chance to win since names like Bob Odenkirk, who played Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman/Gene Takavic in Better Call Saul, and Pedro Pascal, who played Joel Miller in HBO's The Last of Us, have also been nominated.

What is Succession about?

youtube-cover

Succession showcases the story of the affluent Roy family. Their patriarch Logan Roy owns Waystar RoyCo, a global media and entertainment conglomerate, but his power-hungry children desire complete ownership of the company.

The official synopsis of Succession season 4 reads,

"The sale of media conglomerate Waystar Royco to tech visionary Lukas Matsson moves ever closer. The prospect of this seismic sale provokes existential angst and familial division among the Roys as they anticipate what their lives will look like once the deal is complete. A power struggle ensues as the family weighs up a future where their cultural and political weight is severely curtailed."

The show was created by Jesse Armstrong and premiered on June 3, 2018.
