Amid the s*xual misconduct controversy regarding the former MasterChef host Gregg Wallace, a competitor on the cooking show alleged that Wallace reportedly thrust his groin at her face three times as she knelt by an oven during one of the episodes. However, as per the Sun’s December 3 report, the scenes were cut from the show.
The contestant, Emma Phillips-Jennings, further claimed that Wallace allegedly made lewd jokes about meat. She added that he also made a crude comment about her parents while making the "unprofessional and disgusting" move.
The claims came after Gregg Wallace has been accused of making offensive and s*xualized jokes about a variety of women for almost 20 years. One of the first women to openly accuse Wallace of inappropriate behavior was journalist Kirsty Wark. Kirsty told BBC News on November 29 that Wallace allegedly made "s*xualized" comments while filming Celebrity MasterChef in 2011.
Another ex-MasterChef contestant brought forth some allegations against Gregg Wallace
Emma further said that Gregg Wallace made his offensive gestures while she was making a dish of stuffed trout. According to the same Sun article, clips from the episode showed her crouching in front of the oven and billowing steam.
Emma then told The Sun:
“Gregg asked me how I learned to cook and was it from my mother. I said, ‘No, because my mum’s Jewish and lived on a kibbutz where you have very set jobs and my dad was the chef in our family’. I said she hadn’t even seen raw meat until she met my father.”
She continued:
“As soon as I said that, Gregg then said, ‘Yeeeaaaah, and he then showed her his meat’... I was gobsmacked and found it unprofessional and disgusting… I found it dismissive and degrading and he was imitating my father, really, thrusting at me.... I was young at the time and naïve, and this was a big moment in my life and he ruined it.”
According to the ex-Masterchef contestant, the video was allegedly edited to shield Gregg Wallace, who showed "no shame." Additionally, three new allegations against Wallace were reported by BBC News on December 3, who resigned as a MasterChef host. This is the second accusation of him bothering contestants at their ovens.
Furthermore, the Telegraph reported on November 30 that a former coworker said that as she was kneeling in front of Gregg Wallace to remove a stain on his trousers, he gripped her head and pushed his body in her direction. The complaint also stated that Wallace allegedly performed a "silly dance" after entering the MasterChef studio "completely naked except for a sock pulled over his p*nis.”
Moreover, The Guardian also reported on December 3 that in front of a live audience at the BBC Good Food show, Wallace allegedly instructed a British Sign Language interpreter to sign offensive terms.
According to the site, Gregg Wallace also allegedly groped another woman's bottom during a group hug in an elevator in 2022 and pressed his private parts against a woman who was filming the BBC show Eat Well For Less in a supermarket in 2015.
However, as per BBC's November 29 report, in response to such claims, his attorneys stated that "it is entirely false that he engages in behavior of a s*xually harassing nature." Nevertheless, he still resigned as MasterChef's co-host in order to let the authorities conduct their external inquiry.
