Amid the huge scandal surrounding Diddy, one celebrity has found himself in the middle of a speculation. A video featuring Inferno actor Tom Hanks dancing had gone viral on the internet. The content piece also had a CNN banner, which read:

"Tom Hanks converts to Judaism and flees to Israel following the arrest of Diddy."

The clip soon spread like wildfire and grabbed massive attention from the netizens. The original video reportedly was viewed more than two million times. The clip and the rumor is, however, fake, and must be debunked.

Firstly, it had been found that a similar clip was circulated across the internet back in January when the infamous Epstein client list came out. Several X account holders later shared the same clip of Tom Hanks dancing at a gathering. There was a CNN heading in that clip too, which read:

"Tom Hanks converts to Judaism and flees to Israel following the release of the Epstein client list."

The community note then stated that the video was originally from 2014 when Hanks was attending a wedding. Thus, it had nothing to do with either the Epstein list or Diddy's recent arrest.

The video and clips from the same had been initially shared by The Times of Israel in July 2014. Tom Hanks was attending the wedding of Scooter Braun, who was Justin Bieber's manager at the time. Thus, it could clearly be concluded that the video had been misinterpreted.

Rumor about Tom Hanks fleeing to Israel post Diddy's arrest is false and the viral video is misinterpreted

As previously mentioned, the video of Tom Hanks dancing is from a wedding he attended in 2014. While the viral clip along with the CNN banner might have confused netizens, it is important to note that the speculation about Hanks is untrue.

The video of Hanks dancing was reportedly captured by Justin Bieber, who later shared it on Instagram as well, as confirmed by ABP live. Bieber also wrote:

"Haha Tom Hanks singing 'This Is How We Do It' dressed like a Rabbi, lol #thatdancetho."

It is also found that Hanks was actually dancing to Montell Jordan's song This Is How We Do It, and not to the Jewish track The Happy Nigun.

Logically Facts had further contacted CNN to check the authenticity of the headline in the first place. A spokesperson reportedly told them that the video and the banner had completely been fabricated.

Amid Diddy's arrest and the filing of the grave allegations against him, several social media account holders had often come up with some speculation or rumor, which isn't true.

Just a few days back, a modified photo of Kamala Harris posing alongside Diddy went viral. It was later confirmed that the person next to Harris wasn't actually the mogul but in fact Montel Williams.

It has now become necessary to do a fact check of any claim that one comes across on the internet, since there have been many instances of fabricated news getting circulated, thus creating confusion among the audience.
