As Donald Trump won the much-awaited presidential election and became the 47th US President, several celebrities reacted to the news. From Cardi B to Christina Applegate, many celebrities have expressed their frustration upon the Republican candidate's win.
During an Instagram live session, Grammy-winning artist Cardi B responded to a comment that read:
"Cardi we need you at the Trump inauguration."
She replied:
"I swear to god I’m gonna f–k you up, get away from me. I’m sick of you! Burn you’re f–king hats motherf–ker. I’m really sad. I swear to god I’m really sad."
The rapper further explained that she was proud of Kamala Harris. The reaction came after she spoke at Harris' rally in Milwaukee last week. Cardi B further spoke about Harris and said:
"No matter what, I know that she’s probably emotional right now. I know there’s probably a lot going on in her mind and I know she’s not listening to this, but she will eventually see it."
The rapper continued by stating that Harris should know that millions of people including a lot of women were proud of her. She added that she felt authenticity when she spoke to Harris previously. Cardi B further described the 2024 elections as an "unforgettable" one.
Quentin Tarantino was another celebrity who reacted to Trump's win. He took to Instagram and uploaded a post designed like a newspaper with "America dead at 248" written on it. He then captioned the post:
"I am so sorry. I genuinely did everything I could possibly do.''

Not just Cardi B and Quentin Tarantino, but a lot of other celebrities like Andy Cohen, Christina Applegate, and Sophia Bush expressed their frustration upon Trump's win. Andy Cohen took to X, and posed a question asking if the elections "were not rigged."
Actress Christina Applegate too did not hold back with her frustration while tweeting about the same. In the tweet, dated November 6, 2024, Applegate wrote:
"Why? Give me your reasons why????? My child is sobbing because her rights as a woman may be taken away. Why? And if you disagree , please unfollow me."
Actress Sophia Bush took to X and wrote:
"Great job giving the MAGA gang more power, America. Wonder how many folks are seeing this and STILL saying 'But but but at least he’s not a Black woman!' in the privacy of their homes tonight. My heart is broken 💔"
While several people expressed their displeasure at Trump's win, many celebrities celebrated it as well. The list would include Jeff Bezos who congratulated the Republican candidate.
Adam McKay seemed to bash the Democratic Party after their loss. McKay tweeted:
"I thought liberals’ whole thing is being smart? It’s not? They actually just blindly cheer the parade of rickety optics wrapped up in New York Times fonts that is the modern Dem Party?"
Trump's win in the 2024 Presidential elections has sparked a lot of other reactions from both the common people as well as celebrities. According to The Associated Press, Trump won the race with 277 electoral votes, while Kamala Harris won only 224.
