The ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl who took over the internet a few days ago, has created a second wave of virality with netizens’ speculations over her identity. The girl became an overnight sensation with her playful and silly response to a question during a street interview with YouTubers Tim & Dee TV in Nashville, Tennessee.

Upon asking her about a certain bedroom move, she responded with the onomatopoeia of spitting. The term refers to a noise one makes when they hawk to bring the phlegm up from their throat to the front of their mouth and then throw the spit out with a “tuah” sound.

Netizens were instantly amused by the girl from Tim & Dee’s video and began searching for her name and social media accounts. However, some wrongfully assumed her identity and tagged different people who were not actually the “Hawk Tuah” girl.

X user LD Basler claimed the girl is 25-year-old Katie Vickers from Paducah, Kentucky. On the other hand, Fathead Threads, a clothing brand based in Belfast, Tennessee, claimed the woman goes by the first name Hailey as they posted pictures of her signing their “Hawk Tuah” hats. Several others have noted the woman might go by the name Hailey Welch.

Others, who are yet to find out the woman's verified identity shared hilarious memes:

Speculations about the "Hawk Tuah" girl's identity

As per LD Basler’s claim, Katie Vickers aka the “Spit on that thing” or the “hawk tuah” girl is the daughter of esteemed pastor, Harley Vickers who serves at Paducah’s Little Hope Baptist Church. The X user supposedly quoted the father and wrote:

“This isn't the kind of attention we wanted for our family…We hoped she'd spread the Good Word, not become a national laughing stock.”

LD claimed Katie remained unapologetic and said she was only being herself in the video and could not foresee it going viral.

But these claims about the viral woman's identity as well as the supposed identity of her father and his reaction lie unverified.

However, a more convincing post was shared by Fathead Threads on Facebook, who are now selling "Hawk Tuah" merchandise. The page shared two photos. In one of them Hailey, as identified to be the "Hawk Tuah" girl by the brand, is seen signing the hats.

The autographed hats are now being sold for $40, and the unsigned versions for $30.

Although a direct confirmation from the viral woman herself is yet to come, the majority of social media users are calling her Hailey for now.
