The houses of several Hollywood celebrities have been destroyed in the currently ravaging LA fire. According to BBC, the wild bushfire started within an area of just 20 acres but spread to over 200 acres within just 20 minutes. As of writing, the LA fire has spread to over 17,000 acres without any signs of containment. The fire has reportedly caused the death of at least five people.
The LA wildfire led to a state of emergency, forcing over 70,000 people to evacuate as smoke and ash spread through the city. It also threatened major tourist sites like the Walk of Fame.
The Palisades neighborhood is home to many Hollywood stars such as Eugene Levy, Tom Hanks, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon Carol Lombardini, Adam Sandler, James Woods, Steve Guttenberg, Bradley Cooper, Michael Keaton, among others. The fire has destroyed multi-million dollar properties, including those of Paris Hilton and Anthony Hopkins.
Hilton penned down her devastation after watching her Malibu home "burn to the ground" in an Instagram post on January 9. The 43-year-old shared her grief of watching her house burn on live television with her family.
"Heartbroken beyond words.Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience. This home was where we built so many precious memories. It’s where Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London," she wrote in the caption.
As per another report by Daily Mail, Silence of the Lambs star Anthony Hopkins' California home worth $6 million has been completely burned in the LA fire. Another report by Page Six claims that photos obtained by the outlet showed his house "completely burned down." However, the Hollywood veteran has yet to comment on the destruction.
The list of celebrities who have lost their homes to the devastating LA fire continues to grow as it rages unchecked across Los Angeles.

The LA wildfire has reportedly claimed the houses of several A-listers in the industry. Among them, singer/songwriter Mandy Moore shared visuals of her home being burned to the ground on Instagram.
"This is Altadena. Leveled. My sweet home. I am devastated and gutted for those of us who’ve lost so much. I’m absolutely numb," she wrote over a video of burning buildings she passed while driving down the road in the northeast Los Angeles neighborhood.
She followed up with more Instagram posts explaining that she and her family were safe. The 40-year-old had previously shared that she and her family had evacuated before it was too late.
“Praying for everyone in our beautiful city. So gutted for the destruction and loss. Don’t know if our place made it,” she wrote in an Instagram story on Wednesday.
DJ FaZe Kaysan shared the news of his Malibu house being on fire in an Instagram story. The FaZe Clan boss wrote:
"Damn my Maliby house literally on fire in his vid. Great memories, I'm lucky I moved everything out months ago but unreal. Praying for LA and everyone."
Actor Billy Crystal and his wife Janice also shared the grief of losing their 46-year-old home in a statement shared with PA news agency (quoted by Mirror).
"Words cannot describe the enormity of the devastation we are witnessing and experiencing," said the couple.
Billy Crystal recalled fond memories in the house, saying:
"Janice and I lived in our home since 1979. We raised our children and grandchildren here. Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can’t be taken away. We are heartbroken of course but with the love of our children and friends we will get through this."
Reality stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt also lost their homes. According to Page Six, their house was "burned to the ground" although the couple had evacuated prior to the mishap.
As per Page Six, Schitt's Creek alumni and Honorary Mayor of Pacific Palisades Eugene Levy's house didn't survive the LA fire. On January 7, he commented on the devastating fire to the Los Angeles Times.
"The smoke looked pretty black and intense over Temescal Canyon. I couldn't see any flames but the smoke was very dark," said Levy.
Television star Cameron Mathison announced via an Instagram story on January 9, that they were able to evacuate before their house caught on fire. In another video, Mathison drove around the neighborhood and showed what was left of his house.
“We are safe But this is what’s left of our beautiful home. Our home where our kids were raised and where they wanted to raise their own someday," he said.
Celebrities whose houses were reportedly burned down in the LA fire include Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, Anna Faris, Miles Teller, Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Cobie Smulders, President Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden, among others.
