Donald Trump alludes to America's 'golden age' in victory speech before official confirmation of his win
Donald Trump was accompanied by his family and running mate JD Vance for his victory speech at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. The next President of the United States pledged to bring back the country's 'golden age' and utilize its crude oil reserves to bolster the economy and pay off the national debt.
"This will truly be the golden age of America. This is a magnificent victory for the American people that will allow us to make America great again....We will make you proud of your vote," he said.
Referring to his two assassination attempts during the campaign, the Republican leader alleged that his life was spared for a reason and he would fight tooth and nail to make the country prosper. He said:
"This will be remembered as the day the Americans regained control of their country.... I will fight for you with every breath in my body, will not rest until we have delivered a strong, safe and prosperous America."
"I said that many people have told me that God spared my life for a reason. And that reason was to save our country and to restore America to greatness. And now we are going to fulfil that mission," he added.
Donald Trump's running mate JD Vance also took the mic and described the win as the greatest political comeback in the history of the United States. He talked about catapulting the country's economy, saying:
"We just witnessed the greatest political comeback in the history of this country, and under President Trump’s leadership....we’re never going to stop fighting for you, for your dreams, for the future of your children. We’re going to lead the greatest economic comeback in American history."
In his victory speech, the 78-year-old also expressed his gratitude to the multi-billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk. The Tesla CEO was a constant support during his presidential campaign. He acknowledged his efforts and promised to protect 'geniuses' like him during his tenure.
