On December 29, 2023, an X user took to social media claiming that BTS members Jimin and Jungkook decided that they did not want to release any of their military photos that revealed their faces. The user also stated that a new photo of squad was released earlier and the pair were not present there.

The Set Me Free Pt.2 singer and Standing Next to You singer enlisted for their mandatory military service on December 12, 2023, and joined the same squad through the Buddy System, where two individuals enlist in the military as companion soldiers.

As the aforementioned user made the claim, fans started resonating with the user's statement and stated that they should respect their privacy.

"They deserve their privacy": Fans want others not to share Jimin and Jungkook's military pictures without their consent

On December 21, 2023, several photos of Jungkook and Jimin donning military uniforms and training with guns went viral on social media. The photos were published by the Korean Army, The Camp Cafe, for the Camp Shooting Preliminary Training purpose.

However, as per the aforementioned user's claim, new photos have also been posted of each military squad on the 10th company cafe, and Jimin and Jungkook were not present there. The user stated:

"I guess Jiminy Jeong Gu-ki decided not to release any photos showing his face. A new photo of each squad was posted on the 10th Company cafe, but these two are not there anymore."

The user assumed that the BTS members might have decided to refrain from sharing their pictures furthermore. However, no official confirmation has been provided by the members themselves, and their agency, Big Hit Entertainment, has not issued any report about it.

As the @Wooteojin's post went viral on Twitter, fans started sharing their opinions. Many stated that if the user's claim is true and authentic, they should refrain from doing so and respect the members' privacy.

Others stated that it is common sense for people to respect their privacy when members themselves have not shared their military photos on their social media handles, including Instagram and Twitter.

Other fans mentioned that many TikTok users have been sharing military photos of Jungkook and other BTS members on the platform without their permission. They stated that even if they intervene and explain the invasion of privacy, users do not understand and continue using the Set Me Free Pt.2 singer and the Standing Next to You singer for their content to increase social media engagement and visibility:

Meanwhile, in recent news, the Like Crazy singer has released a digital single Closer Than This to give a gift to the fans while he is away serving his country. Big Hit Entertainment released Jungkook's 3D (feat. Jack Harlow) Promotions Sketch on BANGTANTV.

Jimin and Jungkook are expected to serve in the military over the course of 18 months and discharge by 2025.
