Internet users were shocked to see a student bringing a rifle to Bostrom High School

Many commented on the issue of teen and gun violence that is quite rampant these days in the US. Some wondered how the student made it inside the school with such a huge weapon with him.

Several people pointed out that the student could not have bought the gun himself since he was a minor, so someone must have given him the gun. They stated that the person who handed him the gun should be found out and charged. The parents of the Bostrom High School student were also held responsible for the kid's actions.

The student is booked at a juvenile detention

Bostrom High School went into lockdown when school officials were notified about the possible presence of a gun inside the campus. Officials then looked into the allegation and discovered that the report was accurate. They then informed local authorities to confiscate the weapon.

The Phoenix Union School District released a statement and said:

"As always, the safety and well-being of our staff, students, and visitors remains our top priority, and we will work with law enforcement as they continue to investigate."

Bostrom High School officials sent a letter to parents on Sunday, reassuring them that out of an abundance of caution, they would employ additional safety measures on Monday. It was also mentioned that they would not allow any backpacks this week on campus. A meeting with the parents was also scheduled to be held in the school cafeteria on Monday night.

The student was sent to juvenile detention on charges, including carrying a weapon on school grounds, interfering with an educational institution, minor in possession of a firearm, and a few other charges related to possession of a weapon.

The crime gun intelligence unit of Phoenix Police is investigating the case alongside the district officials and the school while the student remains in custody.
