Recently, a GoFundMe page had been launched for the financial assistance to the deceased victim's daughter Alysson. While the targetted amount of the fundraiser was $7,000, it has already raised more than $941,000, at the time of writing the article. Jason Bubb, the fundraiser organizer wrote,
"Saturday night, our friend and family, Allyson, lost her father due to a senseless, tragic act at the Trump Rally in Butler. Allyson has been an athlete with us since the beginning..."
When the raised amount has just crossed $800,000, the fundraiser updated—
"Wow. We are over $800k in less than 24 hours. I would say our goal is 1M. Please share with everyone you know. Allyson and family are truly grateful for all your support."
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro spoke about victim Corey Comperatore
50-year-old Corey Comperatore passed away in the shooting that took place on July 13 and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro identified him publicly, during a press briefing. It was further revealed that Corey had always been a strong supporter of Donald Trump.
During the press briefing, Shapiro said—
"Corey was a girl dad. Corey was a firefighter. Corey went to church every Sunday. Corey loved his community and, most especially Corey loved his family."
He continued—
"Corey died a hero. Corey dove on his family to protect them last night at this rally. Corey was the very best of us. May his memory be a bedding," said the Pennsylvania Governor.
President Joe Biden held a press conference, on Sunday, July 14, and expressed condolences to Corey Comperatore's grieving family and said—
"He [Corey Comperatore] was a father. He was protecting his family from the bullets that were being fired, and he lost his life. God love him."
Dawn Comperatore, Corey's sister took to Facebook and explained how he took a bullet just to save his entire family. Dawn further wrote how Corey's wife and children saw the worst.
The post had, however, been deleted later. The 50-year-old man used to live in Sarver, Pennsylvania, and had two daughters. The victim's LinkedIn profile revealed that he was working as an engineer at a plastic manufacturing company in Butler.
The Pennsylvania State Police released the identities of the two other individuals who sustained injuries in the shooting, but fortunately, survived it: 57-year-old David Dutch from New Kensington and 74-year-old James Copenhaver from Moon Township. The police have confirmed that they were admitted to the hospital with critical injuries, but their situations had eventually improved.
The Security Service Officials shot down the alleged shooter at the spot. The former president reportedly got injured in his right ear, after the bullet just grazed by him.
