Hailey Welch, widely recognized as the "Hawk Tuah" girl who recently went viral on TikTok, has reportedly signed for representation with Hollywood management firm The Penthouse, as per The Hollywood Reporter. Initially, there were speculations that United Talent Agency (UTA) would be representing Welch.
However, The Penthouse confirmed in a statement that they are working with her and founder Jonnie Forster called her "America’s sweetheart." They expressed their excitement about working with Welch, and as per The Hollywood Reporter, they added:
"The world’s gone crazy for Hailey! I’m glad our team can help guide this rocketship. All the podcasters are right, spend five minutes with her and you’ll see why she is America’s sweetheart."
Hailey Welch aka 'Hawk Tuah' girl's meteoric rise continues with new partnerships and opportunities
The internet's fascination with Welch began after she vividly described "one move in bed that makes a man go crazy every time" in one of Tim & Dee TV's videos. She used the phrase "Hawk Tuah" in the clip, to mimic the sound one makes while spitting, and the video soon went viral online. She was then dubbed the "Hawk Tuah" girl, and netizens immediately began looking for her on social media.
Hailey Welch's journey from viral fame to professional representation appears to be progressing smoothly. While Jonnie Forster expressed the company's excitement about working with Welch, they remained tight-lipped about her first project.
In addition to securing representation with The Penthouse, Welch has also enlisted the services of Nashville entertainment attorney Christian Barker of Christian Barker & Co. as per The Hollywood Reporter. While speaking about Hailey Welch, Barker explained that she has risen to fame with her "cheeky humor," often being referred to by her friends as the "female Theo Vonn." They added that her story would likely resonate with millions and said:
"After getting to know her on a greater level, I think her small-town, grassroots story and how a chance encounter on Broadway took her on this unexpected path to stardom will resonate with millions. We are proud to represent her on this journey."
After she went viral online, Welch shared her enthusiasm and gratitude for the sudden turn in her life. She expressed disbelief at her new-found fame, noting that just two weeks ago, it was only her and her grandmother in the small town of Belfast, Tennessee. As per The Hollywood Reporter, she spoke about how her life had changed and said:
"Isn’t God great?! Can’t wait for what’s ahead."
Since the video went viral, Welch has appeared on various podcasts, including Plan Bri Uncut. During her time on the show earlier this week, she debunked rumors about herself online. She revealed that she works at a spring factory in her Tennessee hometown and was shocked when she learned about her fame.
Welch's popularity also led to her first merchandise deal, with official "Hawk Tuah" hats now available via Fathead Threads. The company's owner Jason Poteete told Rolling Stone that they had already sold more than 2,000 pieces, as of June 26. The sales were reportedly worth $65,000.
