DJ Akademiks recently apologized to Jay Z in his latest livestream. This comes after the latter faced r*pe allegations alongside musician Sean “Diddy” Combs. Netizens have since taken to social media to react to the apology.

On December 20, DJ Akademiks discussed Jay Z in a livestream titled Here’s why! Akademiks apologizes to Roc Nation & Jay Z & breaks down why you can’t play with em! The internet sensation stated:

“I want to sit here and make a public apology. Jay Z, I’m sorry. I want to apologize to Roc Nation as a staff, as the record label, and the motherf**king company. I want to apologize to Jay Z, Blue Ivy, the other two, Beyoncé and Beyoncé’s mumma. I want to apologize to everybody.”

Furthermore, DJ Akademiks apologized to Jay Z’s lawyer Alex Spiro as well “for everything.” He added in his official apology:

“The apology is coming from a place of respect… I’m going to dump that fight with Roc Nation. I want no smoke”

Netizens have since taken to X to react to the apology, with one person saying:

"He definitely got that call."

Several others expressed similar sentiments with comments online reading:

“The intimidating phone call came & the check was instantly deposited into his account,” an X user said.
“This shxt get crazier and crazier by day,” a platform user said.
“Scary a*s,” another netizen said.

An unidentified woman alleged that she was r*ped by Jay Z and Diddy at an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty in 2000. Meanwhile, other reactions read:

“Why does everyone always have to apologize to jay z and Beyoncé? So weird,” an X user said.
“Big Ak got that phone Call from Roc Nation,” a platform user said.
“Who was actually shocked by this? Ak has always been scary, and he’s always straddled the fence. I’m not surprised by this at all,” a netizen said.

The Alabama woman has since acknowledged that she made “some mistakes” by recounting the alleged assault. However, she continues to stand by her claim, according to NBC. Meanwhile, other reactions read:

“The check must have cleared,” an X user said.
“HE GOT THAT CALL,” a netizen said.

“Jay’s a cold n**ga”— DJ Akademiks seemingly praises Jay Z in earlier livestream

In a December 17 livestream, DJ Akademiks praised Jay Z for denying any friendship with Diddy, who is currently facing s*x trafficking charges. DJ Akademiks stated:

“One thing I mind about Jay Z, I told you, Jay’s a cold n***a and I like that about him. Yo, you n***as caught tight, this be the Black community… Jay’s my mess. Yo, one thing I f*ck with Jay for is a cold n***a, a cutthroat assassin. Okay?”

This comes after Spiro denied Jay Z being associated with Diddy. Spiro said in an official statement to US Weekly on December 16:

“Mr. Carter has nothing to do with Mr. Combs’ case or Mr. Combs. They knew each other professionally for a number of years. Just like in all professions, people know each other. At the music awards, they support each other. If you go to the NBA All-Star game, they support each other. That’s just how professions work. There is no closer association between any of them. That’s also a matter of fiction.”

Jay Z vehemently denied the r*pe allegations in an official statement through his label, Roc Nation. Diddy has also denied the allegations made by the victim as he remains behind bars.
