BTS’ Jungkook is set to release his debut solo album, GOLDEN, in October. His producer, Bang PD, revealed that HYBE America's CEO Scooter Braun is the force behind the maknae's upcoming album coming to reality. The revelation came via Bang PD's exclusive interview on Bloomberg Screentime.

Bang PD disclosed that BTS’ Jungkook initially hesitated to release a solo album. HYBE America's CEO, Scooter Braun, who has previously managed the likes of Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande's careers for a long time, convinced him to go ahead with GOLDEN.

In Bang PD's words:

“I cannot help but say that Scooter’s contribution was extremely significant.”

A fan who goes by the username @alaska2121 wrote, "I needed to hear this! Everyone knows he's very capable! He just needed that spark to kick it off! So proud," accompanied by a clap emoji.

Scooter Braun was first revealed to take on the role of HYBE America's CEO in January 2023.

BTS’ Jungkook was skeptical about releasing GOLDEN, as revealed by Bang PD

BTS’ Jungkook is the youngest and final member of the group to release his debut solo album GOLDEN on November 3, and according to Bang PD, BIG HIT MUSIC is solely focused on providing him the best platform to showcase his new album.

However, according to Bang PD's recent exclusive interview with Bloomberg Screentime, BTS’ Jungkook hesitated to release his debut solo album GOLDEN. The idol had to be coaxed and convinced by HYBE America's CEO Scooter Braun to make the album a reality.

Bang PD revealed that Scooter Braun proposed a song for BTS’ Jungkook, and Bang PD instantly knew it was the right fit for Bangtan's maknae and went well with his 'Main pop boy" image.

"One day, over a meal, Scooter brought a song and really wanted Jungkook to sing the song. As soon as I heard it, I knew the song will be a great hit no matter what."

Although Bang PD did not explicitly mention what song it was, ARMYs correctly attributed their guess to Seven. His Billboard-topping hit summer single in collaboration with American rapper Latto and Korean actress Han So-hee.

Furthermore, fans are lavishing praise on BTS’ Jungkook for overcoming his hesitance and delivering two massive hit songs - Seven and 3D, and now prepping to release a full album in November.

After the success of Seven, BTS’ Jungkook followed up with 3D in collaboration with American rapper Jack Harlow. One might think that the massive success of two pop singles might encourage him to dive straight into making a new album. However, according to Bang PD, the Dreamers singer was hesitant and only agreed after Scooter Braun persuaded him.

"In fact, at that time, Jungkook was skeptical about releasing an album, but he said he would want to release an album, actually not even an album; he would want to release a song if he could sing a song like that."

According to Bang PD, Scooter Braun took the entire responsibility for assembling the best songs for GOLDEN, including SEVEN and 3D.

"I was actually ready to support him when he made up his mind. So, soon after that, Scooter and I started working on the A&R. Later, I also produced the song ‘3D,’ and Scooter also collected other songs to be included in Jungkook’s album after the song."

Finally, Bang PD revealed that he was ready to support BTS’ Jungkook in whatever decision he was willing to take, but he is glad Scooter Braun helped him assemble his debut solo album, GOLDEN.
