“He had many ideas" — Richard Simmons' staff reveals the fitness star's final social media post and message planned for fans before his death

As the world mourns the loss of fitness star Richard Simmons, his staff shared a social media post that he had planned to share with his followers just before his death on July 13, 2024. Posting on X, Richard Simmons’ team shared a photo of him in an orange NASA space suit and wrote:

“From Richard’s staff: Hello everyone. Richard worked very hard on his posts for you. He had many ideas and would work ahead… going back to each one making changes until he had it just like he wanted before posting.”

In a follow-up post, the staff added:

“As you know, on the weekends, he would just share a photo with a caption. He always chose his photos and wrote his captions for the upcoming weekend by Friday. So we have the post Richard planned to share with you last Sunday. We thought you’d want to see it.”

In a third post featuring the photo of Richard, the staff revealed the caption Richard had planned to post. The caption read:

“Let me fly you to the moon so we can gaze among the stars. Love, Richard”

Richard Simmons passed away tragically on July 13, 2024, at the age of 76. As per ABC News, the Los Angeles Police Department revealed that they got a call from Simmons’ housekeeper, and as soon as they reached his house, he was pronounced dead. While the authorities have not revealed the cause of death, they have stated that the fitness star died due to “natural causes.”

Social media users and fans were left shocked and heartbroken by the news of Richard's passing. The popular fitness coach died on July 13, 2024, just one day after celebrating his 76th birthday. He was born on July 12, 1948.

Furthermore, just a few hours before he passed away, he posted a message for his fans, stating:

"Hello, gorgeous! Please don’t rain on my parade."

Additionally, he thanked all his fans for wishing him on his birthday. Richard Simmons posted:

"Thank you… I never got so many messages about my birthday in my life! I am sitting here writing emails. Have a most beautiful rest of your Friday."

Tom Estey, Richard Simmons' publicist, confirmed his death and revealed that he was “buried at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park and Mortuary.” The private funeral was attended by his family and closest friends.

Furthermore, as the iconic fitness star passed away, netizens were left concerned and curious to know what exactly caused the same. However, as per The New York Post, the LA Medical Examiner’s Office has stated that an additional investigation is taking place to reveal the cause of the death. This investigation could take up to three months to determine the factor behind his passing away.
