Luigi Mangione reportedly possessed a manifesto against "corporate America"
Luigi Mangione, who now faces a murder charge in connection to the shooting of Brian Thompson reportedly had a detailed manifesto that apparently gave some perception about the alleged attack.
An internal police report was obtained by CNN and the New York Times, which confirmed the presence of the manifesto when cops detained the suspected shooter. According to the law enforcement officials:
"[Luigi] appeared to view the targeted killing of the company’s highest-ranking representative as a symbolic takedown and a direct challenge to its alleged corruption and 'power games'..."
As reported by The Times, cops have also expressed concern that many individuals might end up seeing Luigi's actions to be motivating and act similarly. It has further been reported that he acted alone and funded himself.
Luigi belonged to a prominent family in Maryland and had a lucrative career ahead. He graduated as a valedictorian from the renowned Gilman School. Glimpses into his yearbook have been obtained after two girls shared the same in a TikTok video. In his profile, Luigi Mangione expressed gratitude towards his parents as well as the faculty of the school.
Meanwhile, the suspect's family released a joint statement through his cousin, who is a Maryland state delegate, in which they expressed shock upon learning about Luigi's arrest. No additional details about the suspect have been released yet.
