BTS’ Jungkook is currently prepping to film a new TikTok video with SEVENTEEN's Mingyu as revealed by the SUPER singer himself. SEVENTEEN's Mingyu hosted a Weverse live on October 24, 2023, where he spoke about various topics. This included the group's latest comeback, their eleventh EP SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN.
When asked about his future plans of filming new dance challenges on TikTok with BTS’ Jungkook, Mingyu had a detailed response. He revealed that after filming SEVEN, SUPER, and 3D, they will do a dance challenge battle where they will shoot for the God of Music dance challenge. God of Music is the title track of SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN.
Mingyu shared that he sent BTS’ Jungkook 50 choreography videos and that Bangtan's maknae is prepping hard for it. Once the latter is ready, they will film the dance challenge video.
"Jungkook & I are doing challenge battle. We shot Super, Seven, 3D now its God Of Music’s turn. I sent 50s video & told him to learn. He’s probably working hard to learn it, soon we will film. Once Kookie does a cb again i’ll have to film one again," Mingyu said during the live.
BTS’ Jungkook and SEVENTEEN's Mingyu's fans react to their plans for a dance challenge on TikTok
It is a well-known fact that BTS’ Jungkook and SEVENTEEN's Mingyu are close friends. Not only are they the same age at 26 years old, but they are also labelmates at HYBE and are a part of the same friend circle - 97-liner K-pop idols.
The 97-liner chat consists of male K-pop idols who were born in 1997. They include BTS’ Jungkook, SEVENTEEN's Mingyu, The8 and DK, ASTRO’s Cha Eun-woo, GOT7's BamBam and Yugyeom, and NCT’s Jaehyun.
In his recent Weverse live, Mingyu revealed the Euphoria singer is working hard to prep for the God of Music dance challenge. Mingyu dished he sent the Dreamers singer the "Kung chi pak chi" and sent him a 50-second long dance video. He added that he asked Bangtan's maknae to memorize the choreography so they could film the dance challenge.
For those unversed, "Kung chi pak chi" is onomatopoeia for drum sounds and is the chorus of SEVENTEEN's latest title track, God of Music.
Needless to say, when fans heard about this, they were incredibly excited and took to X, formerly Twitter, to express the same. While some said that they couldn't wait to see more dance challenges between the two idols, others said that they loved the idols' friendship and even stated that the friendship seemed "very sweet."
Mingyu disclosed that once BTS’ Jungkook makes a comeback with GOLDEN on November 3, he will have to return the favour by filming a dance challenge with him. Additionally, fans were warmed to see Mingyu address Bangtan's maknae as "Kookie", which happens to be his nickname.
