The 37-year-old revealed the incident occurred during a family trip to the Bahamas in 2020 during the pandemic. She described how their HVAC unit broke, and workers were called in to fix the issue. That night, Cavallari was sleeping with her eldest son Camden when she woke up to a shocking sight.

"That night I had [my son] Cam in the bed with me. Cam and I were sleeping. And I woke up to a man crawling on my bedroom floor."

Cavallari, who shares three children—sons Camden, 12, and Jaxon, 10, and daughter Saylor, 9—with her ex-husband, former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler, added that her "kids still do not know [this] to this day." The family was staying at the location for a month when the event transpired.

Cavallari described the terrifying moment, saying she was initially disoriented.

"I was so out of it because obviously I had just woken up. And I go, 'What the f--- are you doing?' And this man stands up, runs out the door, and, you guys, he had a ski mask on, full black arms, black pants, the full thing. And I went 'oh, f---.'"

Because Camden was in bed with her, Kristin Cavallari said her instincts took over. She explained that she didn't yell or scream during the incident, as her instincts took over, describing the experience as feeling like she was in Mission Impossible.

The reality of the situation set in after she rushed to wake Jay Cutler. Cavallari admitted that she initially remained calm and relied on instinct during the incident but became nervous and scared after waking up Cutler. She shared that it was only then she started shaking and was able to process what had just happened.

The intruder, identified as one of the HVAC workers, stole cash from the family's backpack. Kristin Cavallari revealed they were able to recover the money and confirmed the man's identity. She described the ordeal as "one of the scariest things that I went through" and emphasized her decision to shield her children from the incident.

"That's just one that I think would really scare them. I will not tell them, probably, until they're adults. Because I just think some things kids do not need to know. And scary stuff like that, I will take that one."

Before their split in April 2020, Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler welcomed three kids together. Their first child, Camden Jack, was born in August 2012, followed by their second son, Jaxon Wyatt, in May 2014, and their daughter, Saylor James, in November 2015.
