American actress Theresa Magdalena Farrow better known as Tisa Farrow passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. The news was confirmed by her sister, Mia Farrow in a heartfelt Instagram post stating she died "unexpectedly," "apparently in her sleep." She was 72 at the time.
Sharing a photo of her sister, Mia wrote:
"If there is a Heaven, undoubtedly my beautiful sister Tisa is being welcomed there. She was the best of us - (I) have never met a more generous and loving person. She loved life & never complained. Ever."
Adding to Mia's message, their brother John Charles Villiers-Farrow told the Hollywood Reporter, that she died in Rutland, Vermont.
Mia Farrow is a model and actress with over 50 movies to her credit. She is also is human rights activist and an active member of UNICEF. She was honored as 2008's most influential person of the year. She has six siblings—three brothers and sisters, with Tisa Farrow being the youngest.

Tisa Farrow was born in 1951 to actress Maureen O’Sullivan and director and author John Farrow. She attended the New Lincoln School in NYC but dropped out in the middle of her 11th year to pursue a career in acting. According to Variety, during her struggling days, Tisa was quite adamant about finding work for herself and wanted "no advantages" despite her family's status.
In a 1970 Interview with the New York Times, Tisa explained she worked as a waitress while going around town looking for commercials, however many rejected her after knowing she was Mia's sibling. She eventually made her onscreen debut in the 1970 film, Homer, portraying the role of a girlfriend to a high school graduate, Homer (Don Scardino) who was deeply affected by the Vietnam War.
She has appeared in several movies including Zombie (1979), Anthropophagus (1980), and Fingers (1978). She notably appeared in Woody Allen's 1979 flick Manhattan. Her sister, Mia has appeared in several of his films including, Rosemary’s Baby and Peyton Place.
During her 1970 interview with the NY Times, she discussed her family at length including her relationship with her siblings.
"None of the girls are alike—but we all like each other... Mia is the strongest. She has a very strong character and is unsinkable."
In 1980, Tisa Farrow quit acting and worked as an ER nurse for 27 years. She married producer Terry Deane and the couple shared a son Jason and daughter bridged. Jason was a member of the US Army and died while in Iraq.
She did, however, tell the New York Times that she was always the baby since she was the youngest.
"Oh, I’m the baby... Even when mom introduces me to people, she calls, ‘Baby, come here baby," she recalled.
Tisa Farrow is survived by her daughter, Bridget, grandson, Kylor, and her siblings Mia, Prudence, Stephanie, and John. Her two brothers, Michael and Patrick, passed away in an aircraft crash in 1958 and by suicide in 2009, respectively.
