Candace Owens has made her way into the spotlight after Don Lemon shared a clip of her interview with the podcast host, where Owens shared her opinion on his marriage. In the short clip of the episode to be aired on July 15, 2024, Don can be heard asking Candace about her thoughts on same-sex marriage.
Candace went on to say how she thinks of it as a “sin.” Don Lemon then asked her if she thinks that he was “sinful.” To this, Owen responded:
“Yes, you are sinning. You are in a sinful relationship. I actually don't believe marriage can be between two men.”
As soon as the clip of the yet-to-be-released episode was uploaded, it started doing rounds on social media, and many started bashing Owens for her thoughts.
Don Lemon got married to Tim Malone, a real estate agent in April, this year. The duo had been dating each other since 2017 and finally tied the knot in New York City after being together for 7 years.
The backlash prompted a quick response from Candace Owens, who then uploaded a video on YouTube on July 12, 2024, with the title “SMACKDOWN! My Heated Debate with Don Lemon.”
In her video, she showed a segment of her interview with Lemon, she discussed people referring to gay people with the offensive term f****ts, and how she is now unable to use the word, which once meant “bundle of sticks.”
On the other hand, Candace Owens is a political commentator and TV presenter who is well known for her talk show, Candace. She also uploads videos on YouTube giving her political views on trending issues and topics.
“You cannot use that word anymore” - Candace Owens talks about Don Lemon’s podcast interview in a new YouTube video
As comments continue to pour on Don Lemon’s short video about Candace Owens calling him “sinful,” Owens also shared another clip from Lemon’s podcast, where the two discuss a previous video clip where Candace talks about the derogatory term used for gay men.
Candace Owens opens up about how she thinks that some “perverts” changed the English language and a few words, and how people cannot use those words, just because of those “perverts.”
Narrating how Lemon showed her the clip where she says that “we have allowed the English language to be maneuvered by perverts, Candace Owens said:
“Don Lemon showed this old clip of me talking about how we have allowed the English language to be manoeuvred by perverts, and I was speaking about the world “f****t,” meaning, a bundle of sticks, because that is what it meant when I was reading Virginia Wolf, and suddenly a button got pressed, and they said that you cannot use that word anymore.”
She was even asked by Lemon if she refers to Black people by the N-word, to which she responded by saying “no.”
While social media users continue to bash Owens for her comments on Lemon, and stating how his marriage to Tim is sinful, Candance has not responded to the same. At the same time, Don Lemon hasn't commented further on the matter.
