Eddie Murphy recently appeared for an interview with CBS Mornings, where he addressed the romance between his son, Eric Murphy, and Martin Lawrence’s daughter, Jasmin Lawrence. Talking about how “they look amazing together,” Eddie Murphy joked and said,

"They're both beautiful, they look amazing together — and it's funny, everybody’s like, 'What is that baby gonna be funny? Our gene pool is gonna make this funny baby."

Furthermore, he was also asked about his reaction when he got to know about Eric and Jasmin’s relationship, to which Eddie Murphy took into account the fact that he and Jasmin’s father, Martin Lawrence are both comedians, hence, he responded,

"We just was like, 'It's cool.' Yeah, it was cool. We thought it was cool. If they ever get married and have a child, I am expecting the child to be funny."

Eric Murphy and Jasmin Lawrence have been in a relationship since 2020, but made it official in June 2021, when they started appearing together on red carpets and events. Later, in many interviews with magazines like In Touch Weekly, the couple admitted to being together and revealed details about how they met.

As Eric and Jasmin announced their relationship publicly a few years back, many fans and followers started believing that since Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence are friends, and have done two movies together, the kids also might have met through them. However, in an interview with In Touch Weekly, and revealed that the couple met through Jasmin’s “uncle.”

In the interview published in January 2022, she revealed,

"It wasn't even our dads, and they've done two movies together, they're friends, I and Eric became really good friends because we bonded on a lot of things understood each other on a certain level due to our background. And over time, it just, you know, became more. Our families are absolutely supportive of their relationship.”

Moreover, this is not the first time that Eddie Murphy has spoken about the romance between Eric and Jasmin, as previously, he addressed the same during an interview with Entertainment Tonight. In the interview, he spoke about “paying for the wedding if they end up getting married,” and joked,

"Well, customarily the father pays for the daughter, am I correct? That's the way it goes down. It shouldn't be an issue, you know? Bad Boys is out of the park and Martin has lots and lots of money, so he should be able to play for a splendid wedding."
