In an X post on April 22, 2025, Kanye West alleged that his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, and her family are refusing to allow him to meet with his children. In one post, the rapper recounted an alleged incident that occurred on January 26, 2020, following the death of basketball player Kobe Bryant, in which the family gathered at Kylie Jenner's house.
West claimed that vintage Playboy magazines were placed within the children's reach. He expressed his intention to exercise his parental rights with his kids, but mentioned that he hasn't figured it out yet.
"I need a plan to exercise my rights with my kids. I figured out a lot of things, but I haven't figured this out. The day Kobe died, we all went to Kylie's house and they in a stand next to the couch in the front living room were vintage Playboy magazine strategically placed within arms reach of every child in that house which was every half black baby," he wrote.
For the unversed, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were married from 2014 to 2022 and have four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
Shortly after Kanye West's X post, a source close to Kim Kardashian told the Daily Mail on April 22 that, although Ye had been in LA for months, he reportedly never attempted to see his kids.
The source also claimed that the rapper only briefly met his daughter, North, before leaving the city. They noted that Kanye is free to see his kids anytime; however, Kim is shielding them by preventing them from being in "chaotic" situations.
"Kanye has been in LA recently for a few months and didn’t ask to see the kids aside from North until a week before he was leaving again. Kanye can see the kids anytime he wants, there are no limitations, but Kim is very careful also to not put them in situations that are chaotic. Protecting her kids are first and foremost," the source said.
A Change.org petition has been launched in support of Kanye West
According to the Hindustan Times report dated April 23, a Change.org petition has been launched. While it remains uncertain whether the rapper himself is behind it, the petition demands that West be granted access to his four children. So far, over 1,700 people have signed the petition.
"Ye (fka Kanye West) has been restricted from being able to see and raise his children. As the father of his children, he has an inherent right to see and be apart of his children’s upbringing. When a father isn’t present in a home they’re limited on their ability to protect their children," the petition reads.
On April 22, West tweeted that he allegedly hasn't seen his 10-year-old son, Saint, this year.
"I HAVENT SEEN SAINT THIS YEAR," he wrote.
