Fans of Kendrick Lamar have been spiraling after Drake's father, Dennis Graham, deleted photos of his granddaughter from his Instagram account.
On Tuesday, January 7, 2024, Reddit user u/HolidayOk9690 shared a post speculating on the development on the subreddit, r/DarkKenny, writing:
"Dennis's post about his granddaughter has been deleted in the past few hours(blurred as to not dox)," adding, "they are definitely on damage control lol."
Many of the posts attempt to prove claims made by either Lamar or Drizzy during their recent rap beef. This included Kendick's diss track, Meet the Grahams, where he alleged that Drake had fathered a daughter in secret and has abandoned her.
The post garnered several reactions. One user noted that deleting the post ironically gave people more ammunition against the Toronto-born rapper and added:
"Dennis really should not have done the dirty delete (just gave more ammo imo). I see where Aubs gets his poor decision making skills from."
Many continued to speculate if it was an attempt at damage control. Some even suggested if the child in the deleted pictures was Drizzy's niece (sister's daughter).
There were a few who suggested that Dennis must have deleted the photos for privacy reasons.
"My dad has another child, I told him that wasn't my sister" - Drake on his recent track Fighting Irish Freestyle
While Dennis Graham's posts have been deleted, there are several screenshots circulating online. It showed that the pictures deleted were shared back in 2014 and featured a young girl. One of the posts featured the caption:
"My beautiful granddaughter."
Speculation arose that the child in the photo resembled Drake's son, Adonis, though some suggested it could be a half-sibling. This followed Drake's release of Fighting Irish Freestyle, which referenced Kendrick Lamar and his conflicts with Universal Music Group.
According to Hot New Hip Hop, Drake recently filed a petition against UMG and Spotify, accusing them of boosting streams for Lamar's Not Like Us.
While shortly after the song was posted on YouTube, UMG took down the song over a "copyright strike." However, in snippets circulating online, Drake can be heard rapping:
"My dad has another child, I told him that wasn't my sister."
Since then, fans have been questioning the meaning behind the verse.
Last year, Kendrick Lamar and Drake were involved in a rap feud, with both artists dropping diss tracks after another, targeting the other's career and personal life. This included Drizzy's Push Ups and Family Matters and Lamar's Meet the Grahams and Not Like Us.
In Meet the Grahams, Kendrick rapped:
"Dear baby girl, I'm sorry that your father not active inside your world / He don't commit to much but his music, yeah, that's for sure / He a narcissist, misogynist, livin' inside his songs / Try destroy families rather than takin' care of his own."
In the track, Lamar alleged that Drake has a secret daughter, adding that he abandoned her. Else where in the track he claimed that Drizzy was s*xual predator.
The diss came as a response to the Toronto rapper's diatribe Family Matters, where he accused K. Dot of domestic violence towards his fiancee, Whitney Alford. He also claimed, Dave Free, the Compton rapper's general manager and friend fathered one of Lamar's children.
Neither Kendrick Lamar nor Drake has publicly reacted to the development.
