Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump recently shared his thoughts on being kissed by Georgia-based activist Michaelah Montgomery after his speech at the Georgia State University Convocation Center in Atlanta on Saturday, August 3, 2024.
The former President invited Montgomery on stage during his Atlanta rally and revealed that he had met her at a restaurant earlier this year. Trump mentioned that Montgomery had come up to him and thanked him for funding historically Black colleges and universities. The former President said:
"She looks at me, says, 'It's President Trump. You saved my college.' And I said, 'How the h-ll do you know that?'... This one is so smart, so sharp."
He went on to reveal that Michaelah Montgomery had kissed him after complimenting him during their first meet, sharing that he never wanted to go back to the first lady after the kiss. The activist attended Clark Atlanta University. He recalled:
"She grabbed me. She gave me a kiss. I said, 'I think I'm never going back home to the first lady.'"
Montgomery laughed at Trump's comments, reminding him that he was "supposed to keep that quiet." The Republican nominee further praised Montgomery as "incredible" and having a "tremendous future". He promised to help her in any way he could in the future and requested her to take up the podium for her speech.
Michaelah Montgomery criticized Kamala Harris during her speech at Donald Trump's Atlanta rally
After Donald Trump introduced Georgia activist Michaelah Montgomery to the crowd during his Atlanta rally on Saturday (August 3), she took the stage to share her thoughts on the upcoming Presidential elections.
Montgomery started her speech by introducing herself as the founder of an organization called Conserve The Culture. She explained that the motto of the institution was to "mobilize the HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) students so that they may get this [conservative] message." She stated:
"I do want to add on to some of the remarks that were made by others. And we do need to do our best to get the message out there. The fight is nothing if all we do is talk about it amongst ourselves. Nobody needs this message more than my folks, so do y'all care for real? Are y'all with us for real?"
During her speech at Trump's rally, Montgomery criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for not doing anything for the benefit of the Black community. The activist referred to Harris as "Mrs Willie Brown" in Trump's rally, alleging to her relationship with Mr. Willie Brown, the former mayor of San Francisco and 90-year-old Democratic politician.
"Aside from her record as a prosecutor, why don't we ask Mrs. Willie Brown if Kamala Harris cares about black families?"
Willie Brown allegedly dated Kamala Harris between 1994 and 1995. As per Reuters, the Democrat was legally married to Blanche Brown during this period but was separated from her since 1981. Harris was 29 and Brown was 60 during this period.
Montgomery further criticized Harris, claiming that the Democrats do not want to "talk policy" but just steal votes. She alleged that while Harris is considered a "saviour for the Black community" all she has done is "hurt the Black community since she came into the game." The activist added that the first step to destroying the community was to "dismantle the Black families."
The Atlanta rally came days after the former President took a dig at Kamala Harris's racial identity at the National Association of Black Journalists convention in Chicago last Wednesday.
The Republican nominee questioned whether Harris was really "Black", claiming that she has always been of "Indian heritage." He went on record to say:
"She was always of Indian heritage, and she was only promoting Indian heritage. I didn't know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black. And now she wants to be known as Black. So, I don't know, is she Indian or is she Black?"
Following the speech, Donald Trump was criticized by the White House for his comments. He is yet to debate Harris publicly since Biden stepped down and endorsed the Vice President to become the next Democratic candidate for President.
